FYI: Naval Jelly is acid-based and meant to be rinsed off and neutralized with water.
I doubt any post-application coatings will adhere if you don't rinse the jelly off first.

Yes, I know and mentioned that.

Yes I know, but that takes "work" (doing it the manuel way). Us 3rdgen men (those who have concord LTs) are already tired from earning a living the "manly" way. I wanted something that required little to no effort. Similar to have someone else doing the work.

There is no shortcut to removing rust. That naval jelly works for slight surface rust, but will not put a dent into anything deeper. There are better products out there. But in the end rust removal is still a ton of work.

I sweat all day long turning wrenches for a living. I wish there was an easier way, but there isn't. Honestly for the wait time involved once you apply these things, you could have removed it with a wire wheel. That is if it's save-able at all.

Re: Our rust prayer has been answered!

If the metal has been contaminated deep into it's pores the rust will comb back, wire brushed or not.

Cutting the rust out and welding is the only thing I have found effective.
