back hatch window on my beautiful 92 camaro rs anniv edition with t-tops shattered. I can't find the glass anywhere, but did find a 91 firebird hatch with the glass in place, that i am assured will be able to replace my back hatch? anyone have thoughts on this?

 

Yes, they should be the same. The unibody, doors, hatch and a few other items are interchangeable between firebird and camaro.

 

Thank you Tibo, do you think it will be difficult to swap out? Shouldn't be any rust etc.

 

They are easy to swap, I believe it is just four bolts at the top and disconnecting the lift struts. I would have a helper for sure as they weigh a lot! I've done it by myself but it becomes very precarious. I had blankets covering the sides of the car and 2x4s to slide it down.

I don't know where you're located, but I have a 1991 Camaro RS hatch. The firebird spoiler holes in the hatch will be different on the one you mentioned, unless you swap out the metal part

 

Thanks for that dagwood, I didn't think it looked right. Mine seems to be wider. I look everyday, I can't seem to find anything.

 

You can swap out the metal lid part....put your original one on the firebird glass. The glass and the metal lid parts are exactly the same between a firebird and camaro. The only difference is where they drill the holes to mount the spoiler. Otherwise I have one I'd let ya have for $50 from a 1991 Camaro RS

edit: I see you're in AZ, so my hatch is probably not feasible. I'd buy that firebird hatch and swap out the metal lids. Any hatch from 82-92 camaro or firebird will bolt on, but you'll probably want a 91-92 because of the third brake light

1986 glass is different because that year has the third brake light on the OUTSIDE of the glass, so i believe there are holes in the glass for that
