245/60R16's should be the same diameter tire as your running now...

well i have a set of 245/50R16 tires and they are too wide for the car. they rub on the wheel well. are the ones you told me thinner than those?

thats interesting, because thats the size that came on my formula. Make sure the rims are not the wrong offset. my front wheels rub ever so slightly on my plastic inner fender when backing up and cranking the wheel all the way to one side...

take the wheel off, then from the back side place a piece of wood or something straight across the wheel, then measure the depth.

i would say your best bet is to go with the standard WS.6/IROC wheel which is a 16x8. The correct tire size for these wheels is a 245/50/16. Some like the 255/50/16s on back becouse they are a little bit wider but what they dont realize is the wider the tire the larger the profile and it looks stupid IMO. BTW dont worry about offset if you get these wheels they are simply labeled front/rear

Same thing goes for the front. I put 225/55/16 on my GTA. They look stupid Now i have to take um back off. Oh well I got a new set of firehawks on my parts car a couple weeks ago. I'll be put'n them on in the spring.

Oh yea. the GTA 16 wheels have 1/2 in. less offset in the front.

That's measuring backspacing. To get offset, you take the width of the wheel, divide by two and subtract the backspacing from that answer. Your offset for any normal wheel should come close to 12mm on a thirdgen f-body.

You say your tires rubbed? Was it a severe rub (steering interference), or was it just a light rub on sharp turns? That size should have fit your car, but thirdgen 16" wheels are front/back specific. They also usually came with thin spacers (but not always the case).
