Flush gas cap

Cut the hinged door flange out

Made a template for the filler panel

Prepared for welding

TIG weld the panel

Cut the hole for the new cap flange

TIG weld the filler

All done. Needs body work and paint

I decided to put a flush mount gas cap on the car to match the flush door handles that I’m about to install.

Push it in and twist slightly counterclockwise and it pops out. Then it is like any other gas cap. It is a popular modification to motorcycle gas tanks.
