Need help quick! Hood issue!

Close to picking up another Iroc but one thing is bothering me big time! There is a big gap in the front of the hood while it’s closed I can stick my fingers under it. It’s a pretty big gap and the fender lines up well. The owner says

no front end colision just needs adjusting!?

Is it an easy fix or something more serious!? Need some help thanks guys!

Probably just an adjustment. It's a 30+ year old car, things have happened and stuff no longer lines up perfect. Kinda like an old house settling. I wouldnt worry about that but look at tires for any weird wear or crumple marks under the hood near radiator.

Screw in the bumper stops. Maybe they are too tall.

Thanks for the info! I just never had one with a gap like that! If it was an easy fix I’m wondering why the seller hasn’t done it. They said it was like that when they purchased it!? Haha

so maybe I’ll take my chances and fix it easily. I didn’t see any bent or damaged front end stuff! And all other front end parts line up..
man I really like this car 89 Blue 5.7 very rare around my area!

I know nothing about 3rd gen Camaros, as I'm a Firebird guy, but I read on a FB Forum just the other day that some Camaro bumper covers sag and droop with age.

Thats possible but it looks like the bumper is aligned okay. More than likely it was probably pushed upwards which caused the hood to overlap the bumper? Maybe they drove up a steep parking lot? Again I never seen that big of a gap. I can put my hand flat under it. Im more concerned about body or frame damage and that’s costly.. Hopefully not 🤞🏼

Re: Need help quick! Hood issue!

would need more pictures to accurately judge what the problem could be. I'm guessing something with the bumper attachment if the hood lines up with the fenders
