Rust Repair New England area

Recently purchased an 87 Firebird, right rear inner structure has perforated rust leading me to believe it needs to be replaced. Does anybody know where I can source a new or rust free inner structure in the New England area? Any other ideas or options are welcome as well

Do you mean the inner wheel house? That’s a common spot for rust. New panels are not available. Depending on how bad the existing panel is, you could patch it. Otherwise, it would need to come from a rust free donor car.

if that is rusted though, it’s likely there is other rust (both rear wheelhouses, front rocker corners, firewall/cowl, front shock towers, floor pans). Look all over and evaluate before tackling the job.

Welcome aboard 87Fireclam. Congrats on your purchase.

This forum has a really good "Parts For Sale" forum. Several members parting cars out. I'd start my parts search there.

@TransamGTA350 The floor pans were patched by a previous owner but all the other spots do in fact have rust, that was the first thing I checked over when I got the car home. However the right rear wheelhouse is the worst of all since its the only spot where its perforated.

Depending on how much rust there is, patching could be a viable option if you can’t find a replacement panel.

I detailed repairing that area in my my resto thread. Also other areas. Might be helpful to you.
