Can't REACH 1989 IROC VERT elusive NUT at rear of ground effects rocker molding
1989 IROC Z VERT.
I have all screws out of the fiberglass Ground Effects trim, at the left and right side rocker panels. Rear seat bottoms out. ONE speed nut about 1" forward of the rear edge, of the left and right Ground Effect trim.
With the door opening vent grill removed, I can see the nut with my Borescope, it is NOT accessible from inside the car. I hate to have to drill an access hole. Someone on TGO said their wife got it w/ a 1/4 drive ratchet. I can not, even w/ my long skinny 1/4 ratchet Anyone? Thanks.

On a convertible you have to remove the complete panel with the speakers in them to get access to the nut.
Complete panel is off. Seat bottom cushions out. I dug up some body sealer in the area where I think an access hole might be, with negative results. Have you seen an access hole? Maybe I am missing it, or my Vert does not have one. Thanks.

you are correct no access hole unless you drill one. i also had my wife remove mine with a 1/4 ratchet

My friends 89 has the "access hole" down by the seatbelt retractor, but my 89 doesnt. I was able to remove mine with a flex head ratchet wrench thru the door jamb vent grill removed.

On my friends 89 they are just next to the seat belt retractor. Sorta between that and the rear shock. Near the bottom right about the body sealer, but I remember them being not very well aligned with the nut/s at all. I had to use the flex wrench on one side because of the mis-alignment.
