Car is an 83 TA with Formula style power bulge hood. Got a few sets of hood vents, some cheap ebay, some diy(see vid) and some nice $$$. I do like the stock TA style but It'd be a lot easier/cheaper to use what i got. Kinda like these BMW E36 ones i got awhile back(not bought for a BMW but not a thirdgen either). Their nice and metal. Might not match the hood lines perfect but sim style V center. And this hood has fire damaged. It's kinda temp, till i find a good deal on a cowl or drive to pick-up one.
IDK just kicking the idea around, i got $90 in the e36 vents
I don't think this is what you had in mind, but it was made for the hood bulge. I think TGO member, Morrow, fabricated it, commissioned by CharcoalBird, who was then trying to get Trackspec to produce and sell it. But I don't see it on Trackspec's website, so this is probably still the only one in existence. The louver is revealed about halfway through the thread, and several installed pictures follow. It's well done and looks good. Power Bulge Hood Louver - Third Generation F-Body Message Boards
For heat extractor vents on the outer flats of the hood, like I think you're talking about, rear side window louvers for C7 Corvettes and late model Mustangs might work. Their shape follows the lines of the Firebird hood between the outer edges and the creases pretty well, but I don't know if there's much curvature to deal with or how flexible they might be. It's something I like the thought of but can't bring myself to do. It would have to be tested first on a scrap hood, maybe a salvaged/damaged standard or Formula hood before cutting into a good metal or fiberglass hood.

Your right, Not exactly what i had in mind But still very cool and something i may consider. Well once the garage has room.
I have some new Mustang plastic rear quarter glass louvers, that i bought to use on a beater Sonoma truck project But that thing will prob never get finished. Also got some of the cheap plastic straight long hood vents but again meant for a beater type project(they look cheap).
Found some i may get and got an idea of what i might try but Still Thanks for posting that. It's now on the list of maybes.
