I doubt your t-tops were ever leaking. Most leaks come from the metal where the roof is in the middle and back. If you have water comming in over the back seats or even some places in the front this is probubly your problem. I'm planning on fixing mine this weekend with some 3M sealer compound. Go ahead and stick a garden hose on your roof and get in to find where those leaks are comming from, then use a sealer where it was leaking. I marked off all my spots and now I need to find something to seal it with.

My rust isn't as bad as ozzy's sounds. Just have several patch's on the edge of the metal. Of course I really haven't got in there to really look, kind of afraid of what I might find. So what do you suggest?

I would clean off the loose stuff with a wire bruch then cover it with some POR15. Then seal the metal where it leaks with some kind of sealer. I'd go to the local parts store to see what they have. I'm going to try and do mine before my baby goes in to get the body redone and paint Monday

If its rot, you should really cut and weld. POR15 will stop it from rusting out more, but won't replace the missing sections of metal. Fiberglass or other quickie repair methods probably aren't a good idea there, since I would think that is probably a stress point (but if you can't afford to weld yet, a quickie job might hold you over for a little while).
Here's what i did on my 87 when i had baaad roof leaks:
After finding the rot in my roof, I did a patch, replaced the weatherstripping, and filled the entire roof with spray insulation foam. It expands as it dries so it filled the entire roof fairly well, and I never had a leak again. You can get the foam at your local hardware store, plus besides being a water sealant, it doubles as sound insullation too
