that gold looks almost like the original color of my 67 Riviera...

There is a '84-'86 TransAm running around my area that is gold with yellow accents. It has looked the same since back then, so I'm pretty sure it is original, but finding info on TA colors has been almost impossible for me on the web so I'm not sure. It looks real good, as a matter of fact it looks so good that if I were to buy a thirdgen TA needing paint, I'd probably go gold.
I ve seen that color its rare but its nice....
thats because the front cover is palstic and the fenders and hood are metal, no other reason, go look at some more cars and you'll see the same effect...
if u look at the nose of that t/a its color is slightly off compared to the body.

i think it also depends on if the nose was on or off. and the direction the painter was painting. becuz on my car they all match and also with my friends firebird. she tookthe nose off and painted it and it didnt get that effect. so i guess it depends on the direction of the sprayin.

the car pictured above appears to be an 88+ IROC, by looking at the location of the decal & and little "IROC" emblem in the Ground FX.

I have no clue how to tell years, im gonna investigate that color, thats the color i want my 84 Z to be if i can stop all the rust in time before it..... gulp* damn salt winters.. and its a Van Nuys built car which is ironic, technically Cali has a lot better sheetmetal friendly climate than the midwest, so... except for the beach lines maybe... i have no clue why my cali car is in IL.... weird... hm.

Just wanted to add that some painters add a flex agent to the front bumper paint which makes it look a tiny bit darker than the hood/fenders.

details on this flex agent, i suppose painters would know what we were talking about if we said flex agent ?
good deal...
