I also have a 92 RS, but it's Medium Quasar Blue Metallic. I have only seen one other 'Maro in town with the same color, and I always get compliments on it. But I think you're right. I dont see many of the Polo Green cars, either.

The Green and blue colors are not what I would call rare. IE I have seen quite a few of them. Also black IROCS aren't really rare either. Nobody really knows how rare their cars are b/c of the color b/c GM didn't keep track of model and paint codes together.

I've seen one 25th aniv car, it used to belong to a freind of mine and i still see it around town. Dark metallic forest green with gold heritage stripes and tan interior, TBI 5 speed. I was a pretty nice car. I think its the only one i've ever seen too.

From what I understand the color came from the factory Polo Green (mine has metallic gold flakes in it). The dealership had the opportunity to add the Heritage Package which included Gold accented rims, Heritage stripes and badge on the rear deck (25th Ann.) All of them made that year had the eblem on the dash but not the rear deck. The interior is tan and came w/ a bose system. the speakers are in the trunk lid and can pump out some serious sound

I have an 89 camaro RS 2.8L 5-speed that is gunmetal grey. I have only seen one that color, and its mine. anyone else have this color and year?

HA HAAA you are tooo funny All you have to do is look on the door jamb where it gives you the tire pressure and whatnot. It will say the year and the month your car was born
I know someone here can get more technical than me on this.
But from my peabrain knowledge the production year stops in Oct. so I don't know what month would be considered the start of the half year. My car was born in July of '92 so it is definately the half year model.

Gunmetal Grey w. Silver GFX... old picture from summer.
Theres another one just like it driving around town that we see occasionally. Not a great picture but I love how its shining... you can see the poster on the wall quite well on the hood of the car (freshly waxed)

hey Fred,
Is that car a rs v-6, or v-8. I'm just curious because i have a 92 thats also forest green with a tan interior and tan roof, cept that mine doesn't have the fog lights... its got the stupid louvers instead. Was that a seperate option or is one early 92 production and the other late 92?

Yo Droptop, as far as I know those "stupid louvers" only came on RS's. The grill with the two big openings were for the Z's I obtained one for my car but went w/ aftermarket foglights instead. I've had several people think I had a Z from the front until they saw the RS on the side. You can get one for like $30 from a dealership. As for the original foglights I heard they are rather expensive but never priced any.
Peace

Actually the Z's from 82-87 had the RS grille. The one with the fog lights were actually Iroc grilles. Later they were put on the 91 and 92 Z's because the Iroc got dropped.

"is my car rare with the monochrome color or am i BSing myself?"
Well, its not real common if nothing else. I think I've seen... 2 at the most besides yours on there that I can think of right now, and can't remember if I've seen one in person or not.

Don't throw out tidbits like that w/out splainin' yo self sunny:nono:
You are correct about the paint numbers I found the info on the net one time. They made about 7000 -10,000 in my color that year- if memory serves me correct.

I almost bought one of those.....
Hey,
I had never seen the forest green on a camaro before period.....much less on a 92, 25th anniversary w/ tan leather interior. It didn't have t-tops though..... It only had 18k original miles.....which kinda scared me off. I thought there was a big chance it had been rolled back. The car was in great condition though....almost perfect....but...I wanted t-tops, and the miles were almost too good to be true. But, to stay on topic, that is the only one I've seen to date.

I Have One
I’ve had this car since 94. I would be very interested in finding out the exact numbers. I do have a question for you guys that own this car. My TBI 305 engine was color-coded green to the rest of the car. Heads, intake, block, hoses, everything except a few plastic pieces had a dark green (no metallic flake like the exterior) paint. Was this the same for your cars?

none of the colors that were produced on any of the cars you are describing are "rare". with the 25th anniversary being no exception, their were "limited" colors. most are often refered to as a rare find, since those colors where on fewer cars because they either weren't popular or the color was a limited production run. if you look on the internet you will find the production numbers for each color.
a rare color would be something like 100 out of 10,000 cars. not 5,000 out of 20,000 sort of thing. i believe production was around 2,500; but it's just guessing.
black irocs are a dime a dozen, it was the most popular color of all the 3rdgens, now the blue pinstriping was limited to a degree, making it a more sought after model for it's year. but not rare.
almost every year production had it's share of colors that weren't used in previous or future models. 25th being no exception. the rs had at least two colors that were not offered on the z28. sky blue and dark green. equally the z28 had it's share of select colors as well.
just like stated above, during the later half of the production year dealers could opt for a "25th anniversary" package with the polo green that included gold "heritage" stripes and gold accent wheels.
equally with the z28 had the black w/red heritage package, this wasn't offered for the rs. making a limited "heritage" package......but not rare one. out of all the heritage packages white/red stripes was the most preferred. purple/silver was the only limited combo that was offered on both the z28 and rs.
as far as grills, there were three that were offered in 92, they included the standard rs grille, the black w/red bowtie z28, and the white w/red bowtie. all z28 grills had fog lights, the 1-LE's had the option for fog light delete. the white w/red bowtie grill was only for the white w/red stripe heritage edition z28 and again fog lights were optional with the 1-le and standard on the z.
