I think the guy on the bottom achieved those looks by using the headlight assembly from an oldsmobile cutlass or the older grand prixs. I think they have the same ones. I think it might be something I have to try the bottom one looks pretty good too.

Yes, MetalliCamaroRS is correct. It is a Firebird hatchback spoiler upside down.

I got the gfx from a local junkyard and installed them. The car still looked too plain, so I looked around for something a bit different. I never found anything I liked that didn't look stock. I show the car quite often, so I needed a unique look. The idea just hit me one day.

I put one on the rear first. I got tons of compliments at the shows for it. Then I got to playing with the front end and put one on there too. It had to be cut and angled to go with the angle nose. That is what the center piece is for, it joints the 2 pieces together.

It finished out the car quite nicely. Honestly, until I got on this board, no one ever noticed they were spoilers. Around town, people always compliment me on the look.

Yeah, right. Who elected you to be the king of good taste? Let's see your car... I'll bet your car doesn't have the same amount of quality workmanship (workwomanship?) that her's does.
If you go to her site and check out her car, you'll see that it is a show car. Ever been to a car show? You gotta be different from the pack to get your car noticed. She has trophys from shows that prove car show judges like her car.
Different is good.

Stupid or not, it provided the difference & responces I sought. I personally really like the look and when I get the car repainted and new front gfx piece, I will still keep the spoilers.

91blkta: Well that's ram air for ya. I wanted a car that could breath and I got it.

Thanks for the compliment andynice20. I know you like different. So do I.

Thanks ops32:
I really appreciate you complimenting me on the workmanship.

I have found it very difficult to hand make so many items on this car. I have had to learn to do and create things myself as I went along. And I tell you its not easy. Try to get a guy to take you seriously when you ask how this or that machine works, or what I need to make this or that. Most people think I'm nutz. Honestly, I have really put all of myself into this project. Doing or making what others say is impossible, to hard, or not available really gives me a good feeling. Gives me much more confidence to face the day.

In the end, whether others like my ideas or not, I can look at it and I'm satisfied. You noticing that and pointing it out is wonderful.

Thanks again!

Shannon
