How do you strip bumpers

My bumpers are repainted by someone who used regular car paint with no flex additive. Yes they are all cracked and I need to strip the paint off and do not want to hurt the rubber. Any ideas how? Will regular stripper hurt the rubber?

I believe that you have to get stripper that is made for urathane bumpers. If you use regular stripper it will seep into the urathane and whenever you try to paint it the paint wont stick.Or use a da sander to take off the paint.

Thanks, its called Nason 1 stage paint made by dupont. I really like how most of the orance peel has gone away. And compared to the last paint job with the same kind of paint mine came out 4 times shineyer and way less orange peel.I just stand back in awe cause I cant believe how good I painted my first paint job.

I would follow the DA with 180 post. While you are removing the paint you are also preparing the surface and removing minor blemishes. The stripper won't do that in one step.

Then prime with a high build primer/ wet sand/ and shoot with a quality paint. Most of todays paints don't need the flex additive but you can still get it.
