Painted Silver interior pieces(pics inside)

Here is my first attempt and doing this, It came out very nice. The camera doesnt do it justice, a little blury and the bright flash.

Took only a couple hours,
cleaned and sanded
1 light coat of primer
3-4 light coats of paint
1 clear coat

what do ya think?
I'm gonna do a couple more pieces soon, wanna do a few at a time to make sure i dont over do it.

That looks tasteful. Alot of newer cars are doing the silver accent thing. Breaks up the blackness of the interior.

I had a 2001 Civic EX that had the silver accents on the door panels and console. It looked very nice.

Yeah i'm doing the exect same to mine. What kind of paint are you using? Glad someone did it in silver before me, didn't want to ruin the interior.

Looks really good. Don't get discouraged when someone posts that it looks bad. That is their opinion. If you like it, great, if you don't, no one is making you do it. Please tell us what paint you used and how is it holding up. Looks good

I used all plasti-kote(its what they had at the store). I just finished the piece that goes over the gauges tonight. I cant scratch this stuff off for anything, its great.

I first put 1 coat of plasti-kote sandable primer color:grey
then 3 to 4 light coats of plasti-kote Ultra Enamel, color is silver of course
then 1 nice coat of plasti-kote Ultra Enamel clear acrylic

cost: less then $20

and it drys pretty fast
damn this sounds like a comercial, well thats is. Have fun and good luck on your paint job. I'll see if I can get a picture of the guage cover to post

I just spent the weekend visiting my car in storage and thought about painting those panels along with the one that goes around the gauges. Just couldnt think of a color. That silver looks great.

Looks neat! The only thing I think I'd do differently would be to paint (or leave) black the "back wall" of the area around the HVAC controls. The black controls look kinda small and out of proportion sitting in the large silver well.
I like it though!

And one more...BTW, the area around the temp guage is messed up on the picture above only because my guage sticks and needs a few good slams every once in awhile

cool bro, you should come to the cops and rodders show at devry on the 21st and ride in the caravan. You work at the kar parts on the corner of Rt 1 and plainfeild ave? If so I live 2 blocks from there. I'll proly stop in there like monday, got to pick up a couple K&N filters if you carry them.
