Yeah mine does this too. I think it comes in from under the Blower motor in the engine bay. I just recently pulled all of that crap out and I found about 3 lbs. of crap underneath it, leaves, dirt, etc... Well I guess from over the years of this stuff building up made the firewall rot away, and now theres a nice 3 inch hole down there. A good place for water to come in.

Now its time to bust out the fiberglass and patch that hole and the other 2 from removing the HVAC crap.

my firebird just recently started to do that as well. I don't know where it is coming in from. I just purchased a 2000 Grand Am so my firebird is going into retirement until I can afford to put it back on my policy. I am going to go through it bumper to bumper and try and fix any major problems.

It is somewhat comforting to know that my firebird isn't the only one that does that.

You say you just removed the blower motor and cleaned it out? Did that correct your problem?

Since my 84 Bird is in retirement right now I spent all night removing the interior. I pulled out the seats, console and carpet and I went searching for where the water was coming in.

My car has the 3 inch hole in the firewall just under the blower motor too!

How do you repair something like that?

Do you JB weld a piece of metal and silicone it or what?

Need help!

I'm not quite sure on how I'm going to fix the hole yet.

Maybe someone will give us some more ideas. I hate fiberglass so...

Sounds like you guys are on the right track. Mine leaked through a hole in the firewall as well. It was from an amp installation and a rubber gromit was left out. The first rain after the install, I was flooded.

Wow, I didn't even consider the firewall being the culprit. I always thought my t-tops made the puddle, but in retrospect, the roof only leaks a little. The first time I noticed the puddle was when I drove thru the City of Decatur in a heavy rain and the streets were flooded. I actually had water splashing over my front bumper going like 2 miles per hour. I felt like I was in a submarine! Thanks for the info, I'll check my firewall...

It's weird in mine, it only leaks about 15% of the time it rains and leaves about a 1/4 inch of water or less

Like the previous posts have said, I am also glad to know i'm not the only one! Mine creates a puddle on the backseat floor which froze over the winter (since I don't regularly drive it). It formed a little ice rink back there. Anyways, thanks for the heads-up and tips on the repair...

Remove the plastic thing that covers the wiper links and such. Mine had one screw and was snapped in. SImple to remove. Under there, you'll see a few seams that will definitely deserve some new silicone.

Another place you should look is behind the kick panel where the antennae grommet and door wiring grommets are. I found out that I shouldn't banzia through the water puddles like I used to do in my old 4x4
