Painting a 92 RS Convertible
A good friend of mine recently picked up a 1992 Polo Green RS Convertible. Tan top and Tan Leather Interior. He is looking to get it painted here shortly. And is looking for any ideas on exterior modifications. Before the car goes in for paint. Specifically on the body.
He would like opinions on the following ideas:
Add Pearl to the Polo Green Stock Paint.
No More Pinstriping
Delete Door Strips
Paint the Headlight Pockets FLAT BLACK. (Like z28)
Replace Driving Light Lenses ( Already Have )
Replace Grill with 92 z28 Grill ( Already Have )
Replace Nose Emblem (Already Have )
Replace Hood with Glastek Fiberglass 2" Cowl Hood (
Repaint Door Handles and Locks in Flat Black.
Repaint Wiper Arms in Flat Black.
Remove RS Emblems and Smooth out with Bondo Over Ground Effects.
Fill in and smooth out rear bumper if possible. Remove Emblem Should be smooth.
Any help you can offer him?

The only other thing that I can think of would be to shave the antenna. I have done some of the mods that you are talking about to my 91 rs convertible. Be sure to post before and after pics of the car when it is done

I'd say do everything he wants to do there except painting the headlight pockets and putting "bondo" over the RS emblems. I personally like the headlight pockets color matched instead of the raccoon look of the Z28's, especially with green.
Here's a couple pictures of mine from when a lady ran a red light and I creamed her honda. I worked at the body shop that put mine back together, so we decided to paint the whole thing while we were at it. I removed the door trim and repainted the handles/locks black...other than that we simply took it back green. You can see I had the Z28 grille and foglights before the wreck...i think that it is a must on an RS. Good luck with the paintjob.

There's also more pictures of it on my website if you want to see some more of the wreck/rebuild or of what it looked like when i first got it and stuff.
