Brake line question
I'm going to be doing a rear end swap in a few weeks. Instead of bending and flaring the brake lines can I get some braided stainless steel lines from somewehre??? (the lines that go from the brake drum to the center of the rear end) Has anyone tried this before? How did it work?

What exactly are you doing? A rear end swap or a brake swap on the same rearend? just clear this up for me and I'll chime back in.

I'm swapping out the original 10 bolt open rear end and putting a rebuilt 10 bolt with posi+3.73's from a 91 Z. I would like to replace the stock brake lines with a braided stainless steel line. I have a feeling that I will not be able to get the stock lines off in one piece. Hopefully this will clear things up for ya

OK then...You'll need the rear lines from Earl's 1LE set, P/N 28A190. Those are just the 3 flex lines so if you also need the hard lines, look at Inline Tube, Classic Tube, or Fine Lines, Inc. All offer new hard lines for $30-50 that will fit that rear.
If you're worried about getting the lines apart safely, soak the hell out of them with a good penetrant like Kroil or WD-40 for 3 days prior to removing them (twice a day at least), and be sure to use flare nut wrenches when trying to get them off so you don't round off the fittings, and they should come off just fine.

I don't think I'd use flexible braided lines all the way from the pumpkin to the wheels anyway. You'd probably have to use zip ties or something to keep flexible lines close to the axle tubes without flopping around. It's better to run regular hard lines along the tubes until you get to the ends, then run the braided lines there.

It's like $40 from classic industries, but the shipping is what kills you because they have to ship it oversize so the shipping ends up being almost as much as the line.

The number I gave ya was for a camaro line....same thing....maybe there is a difference in years between disc and drum, but as I recall I don't think disc or drum matters. Dude just take 5 minutes and call them.....
