Front PBR caliper banjo bolt problem

I am converting my '89 GTA to a 1LE front brake setup. The install went fine up until I attempted to attach the brake hose to the driver's side caliper. The supplied banjo bolt bottoms out in the caliper before the hose fitting is secured. The crush washers are about 1/16" away from even touching the caliper and the banjo bolt. The same banjo bolt works fine on the passenger side caliper, and the hose on that side installed without any problems. Comparing the inside of the banjo bolt holes on the driver's and passenger's side calipers, the driver's side hole is much shallower than the passenger's side. Is this normal? Does the driver's side take a different banjo bolt? Or is it just a bad caliper? What is the length of the correct banjo bolt?

... when I did the conversion a couple of years ago, I didn't run into that problem. Confirming there is a 'crush' washer on both sides the hose, between caliper and hose and hose and bolt?

I used one new crush washer on each side of the hose fitting as usual. The right side went together fine. The hole depth was noticably different between the two calipers. The bolt is probably 1/4" too long to fully seat the fitting. I am considering getting another caliper to look at. If that doesn't work then I guess I'll try to find another banjo bolt. These are the bolts that came with the Spohn kit so I'd be surprised if they didn't work.

Not that this info will assist, but I upgraded with the Spohn kit and all went together without difficulty. Contact Spohn. My experience is that'll he take care of matters.

I'd call Steve also. I've messed with the banjos for C4, 1LE, and C5 and there's only a slight difference between them. They all thread the same so I don't know what could be wrong.

I sent an email yesterday, but haven't heard from him. I'll see if I can get him on the phone in the morning.

The problem turned out to be a bad caliper. I got another one at AutoZone today and it was fine. I'm not very happy about turning in the other new caliper for a core.

Should have got with me, I 've got a few on hand and we could have worked something out...hate to hear you had to return a new caliper.
