over 1000 and still squel

breaks are squealling when i stop and I have worn them down already over 1000 miles. what to do next? Its not really loud but, it is there.

check for a stuck piston or caliper, try anti vibration coating

been fixin this problem for years, lol.... if they are semi metallic pads then put them on the grindin wheel and grind a 30 degree angle all the way around the edge, sounds weird but an ol timer tought me the trick and i been doin brakes professionally for about 6 yrs now i do it everytime and i have no come backs ever!

Here's a picture I have posted before (I can't find where) so I will post it again. It is mostly important to taper the leading edge of the pad.

You definately also always need to put some stop-squeal product on the back side of the pads before installing.

EXACTLY ! ONLY I PUT IT ALL THE WAY AROUND, AND YES YOU THE ANTI SQUEEL THAT YOU CAN PURCHASE AT THE LOCAL AUTOZONE OR NAPA, ALTHOUGH NAPA SUCKS, LOL JP

Most brake squeal is caused from trapped brake dust. The vibrating dust causes the noise. Not only does beveling the edges help, but I also cut a dust channel in the center of the pads to increase in dust evacuation. Most high quality bonded pads have these, but nearly all riveted pads do not. It is still safe to channel a riveted pad, but you must be careful doing so!

BTW - You only need to bevel the leading and trailing edges. It is not necessary to bevel the top and bottom of the lining.
