PBR questions and such, with pics!! (possible 56k warning)

So ya, I know that I will more than likely have to get new e-brake cables since my car orignially had a drum'd 10 bolt, but I was just finishing up the brakes on the 9 bolt in my garage while I had it up on jacksands and noticed that the parking brake lever will move all the way out and hit the bracket, but the axle will still spin with little effort. Is there a way to adjust the parking brake on +89 PBR setup? Like I said, it seems like it either not moving the pad far enough or something. Ill go snap some pics real quick to explain a little better.

ok, got some pics real quick. This first pic is a pic of where Im talkin about with the e-brake lever hitting the bracketry. Its like once it hits this, I can still spin the axle. Just wondering if thats normal or of somethings off or can be adjusted.

Second, there was one spring on the driver side caliper that I took off, but there wasnt one on the passenger side. Can someone tell me what the heck it is, and possibly a part number for GM so that I can get one for the passenger side? I cant find it at all on the Thirdgen CD I got

Another thing I was wanting to make sure is that I have the calipers mounted correctly with respect to the retaining plates. I cant remember where the calipers were "pointing" when I took em off, and also didnt know if I could even put em on backwards or if there was only one way to put em on

I dont know about the cable and brackets but the orientation of the calipers is correct, they are supposed to be trailing. I think they would interfere if you put them towards the front, if it is even possible

Calipers appear to be on the wrong side. Pics in the following link may help:

The spring is for the e-brake lever. I think they've been discontinued by GM. For e-brake adjustment check the link above for "free travel."

I didnt notice that. The e-brake connections should be down and not up.

how do you mean the calipers are on the wrong side? From the pics on the post that you link'd up, it appears to be the same. But I am hoping something is a little off because the bleed screw is right next to the panhard mounting bracket IIRC, and just seems like a funky place to mount it.

As for the ebrake, the pass side holds damn good, its just the driver side that doesnt. so at least Ill have somehting for now.

Note the e-brake mech with spring, the bleeder, and the brake line all face away from the backing plate/rotor (yours face toward):

like i said, i still dont see what your talking about. the top pic I posted up is from the driver side, and the pic you posted up is from the pass side. On both sides the e brake cable bracket are on the bottom, and facing towards the diff. I dont see where any of that is facing the rotor, they are all facing away from the rotor

Here is a pic of the whole assem, maybe this will help explain things better

My bad, I guess. Your third pic has confused me. Can't help.
