recall kit didnt work

i installed the kit on my 84 ta, by the insructions, bleed them and made sure the parkin bake was all in check, and they still dont work, so ima try somethig else. My next question is, are there any disc brake assemblies that are easily swapped in the rear for a third gen f-body? Ive heard ls-1s and c5s, is that all?

What are they doing that you say they still don't work? Is the parking brake holding?

naw, they do absolutely nothing. Having just front brakes sucks, as you never know when your gonna skid into something or plow in to somebody if you have to stop real quick.

So you installed the kit, and immediately afterwards your parking brake still isn't working? Or you installed the kit and some time later the parking brake stopped working?

that's ok, I just replaced my rear calipers for the same reason.. they did squat to stop the rear.
The adjusting screw on the new caliper is frozen so they still do squat. No weight, no rim rear end in the air and the drivers rear just spins away. they do not even knock of the dust on the rotor.

I decided once I get the parts for the LS1 rear swap these damn things are going back. Glad I got the lifetime ones... just hacked off having $14X worth of dead weight doing nothing.

Aren't most of the F-body's this way? I think the prop valve sends such little pressure to the rears they'll never lock. I performed the prop valve mod on my '85 Z28 rear disc and the rears definetly lock in the air now. I haven't gotten it on the road yet so I don't know how they'll perform. I still need to install an adjustable prop valve to make sure the rears don't lock before the fronts.

what mod did you to the prop valve on your car.I read soemthing about taking the spring outta it and putting a bolts back in, but mine has no provisions to do such with. Mine has 2 lines comeing from the master cylinder going in, and then four lines coming out, but, there is only one line going to the back that splits into 2 through a distributions block mounted on top of the axle. i just want rear brakes, is that to much to ask, geeze, ive had girlfriends that werent as annoying as this.

I got my rear brakes to work finally.. I have had 2 thirdgens this way.... I finally messed with them enough, I thought the calipers we a bit sticky but after taking a look at them this wasnt the problem... What I did was take off the arm that the e brake pulls up and put it up a notch on the hex bolt it fastens to... Then I loosend up the ebrake cable to get it back on, then readjusted it it.. Moving the arm takes up for alot of adjustment in the cable. My ebrake holds now with just 2 or 3 clicks..

I would bet that most of my probs stem from the previous owner ignoring maintenance on the car.

I have also gotten 2 drivers rear calipers and not been able to adjust them either. That stupid little allan set screw has been locked on both of them.
