Brake gurus.....brake upgrades and GTA wheels

It seemed for the longest time Ed's C4 non hd upgrade was the best way to go but you mad scientist types seem to come up with something new regularly. Sometimes it is a good thing to be slow on your upgrade, those that upgraded only to have have a newer better, larger option
come along just after can understand.

So what kits will fit under a GTA 16x8 wheel ?
I am not interested in the Wilwood kit , to me that is overkill for the street. Thanks..............

As far as I can tell Ed's C4 kit is about it gor GTA wheels though the LS1 may be a possibility.

So far, my 12.2" Wilwood setup, 12" C4s, and 12" LS1s..maybe 12" 1LEs..to my knowledge that's it.

I'm still trying to find a good brake upgrade for my '87 GTA. I PMed Ed, but no response. Anybody got a good solution, for GTA honeycomb wheels? I'm not willing to ditch my honeycomb wheels for anything.

Not unless I found a cheap way to make 17" honeycomb wheels. In other words, it'll never happen.

I just got back from a week's vacation at the beach so I'm once again backed up on PMs and e-mail responses, please be patient and I'll get to you. The above mentioned solutions are all great but will depend on your budget and braking desires, those will range from $700 or so to $1350.

No. The issue is that the GTA rim casting has an inner lip that contacts the caliper on most of the larger rotor setups. I have a lot of pics of that in various threads but I can tell you that they won't fit that wheel. The problem is the casting.

No problem. I'm in no hurry. I just assumed the PM didn't go through.

Lemme know what options are available, along with prices.

othger then the willwoods the LS1s seem to be the "gigger better" option for the GTA wheels. since you are looking for brakes for street use that should be plenty enough anyway.

i am about halfway through the parts aquisition process of this swap. unfortunatly the GTA wheels i was going to buy (my GTA has aftermarket 15" crap on it) are not quite as for sale as i originaly thought. and until i get a set of 16"s i can't put the Ls1s on anyway..... i don't know if they will fit behind a 15" wheel, but i am not about to swap and then find out i can't drive my car until i get wheels.
