Diffrent rotors solve my problem?

Well Ive tried to put a set of 18" wheels that I had on my 99' SS onto my '92 RS only to find that the hub (more so where the dust cover goes on to protect the wheel bearings) is too large a diameter and sticks out too far for the front wheels. The rears fit fine even with a 295/40/18. My question is, is there a cheap way I can fit different rotors on the car that have more of a 4th gen style hub?

Any help is greatly appreciated.

You didn't use spacers?

No need on the rears, the fronts doesnt look like I'd need spacers but I cant tell because I cant get the wheel on the lugs due to the hub being a larger diameter than my wheel. FYI, the fronts are only 245/35/18's.

I dont think you understand my problem. The hub, that the dust cover attaches to is too large and my wheel opening that allows that hub to come through is physically too small. For example, my 99 SS doesnt have a hub that sticks out, its almost flush with the rotor hat so they work on that application, Im trying to figure out if theres a rotor that I can retrofit onto the '92 to solve my problem.

Edit: If your saying I need spacers to push the wheel out, thats not a solution as it would have to push the wheel out so far that the lugs wouldnt reach the wheel.

If you'll notice the area in the rotor picture with the red line, thats the "hub" that Im refering to that is too large of a O.D. to fit inside of the wheel of which Ive also highlighted with a red line. Hopefully that clears it up.

I'm not talking about slip-on spacers.

The wheels you're trying to use have a different backspacing than a thirdgen wheel. Even if you could get them to mount, they'd be tucked under the fenders too far. You need spacers.

What we're trying to tell you is that 3rd and 4th gen wheels have totally different backspacing and offset and that you cannot run 4th gen wheels on a 3rd gen without spacers, posted by Apeiron above...can't do it.

I recommend Skulte Performance Designs - Skulte Performance Designs, great guy to deal with.

I did some research before I posted and I understand the 3rd to 4th gen differences, but these aftermarket wheel have a different offset than the stock 4th gen wheels (hence why the rears fit with out any spacers or modifications). The fronts actually look like they would be the correct offset, they just wont accept the 3rd gen hub.

Ahh, OK then. Looks like you'll have to take the wheels and have the center hubs bored out or, what I'd do, take the rotors off, remove the studs, and have the hub snout machined down to fit the wheels...much cheaper than my first option.
