still no pedal pressure// searched way too much
Okay I fixed my puling problem when I brake. New hoses and calipers are now up front. I then bled the system. Soon after bleeding teh system, I had no pedal pressure. I thought i may have gotten air in the system, so i rebled the brakes. I pumped them like 4 times. I am taking it that this is not enough? What else could go wrong? I also replaced my proportioning valve and I have no fluid coming to the rear brakes. I dont understand the rear brake problem at all. All I can think of is the rear rubber line is bad like the fronts were?

i have delt with braker that after a brake job you hand to pump like crazy before they would get firm, sometimes even with the motor on for the power assist, but going as far as you went, replace ALL the rubber hoses...
as for the fluid to the rear brakes, im not sure unless you happened to get a bad prop valve

Well I havent toyed with it yet since the new valve. I am just gettin mad at the pedal pressure problem. I gotta drive to school today and stuff. So let me make sure I am gettin this right. Could there be a problem when I reput on the calipers when I changed the hoses? No right. I mean I didnt phsyically change anything.
Also what do u mean when You are talking about pumping it alot to get it to firm. I have that problem. When the car is off, it used to harden up. But now it will just keep going like its a regular brake when the car is on

Re: still no pedal pressure// searched way too much
pretty much it just takes a while for it to get back hard, because the pisons in the brake calps need to "reset" or adjust for lack of better words, you best bet it to start it up and keep mashing the brake, full on, then all the way off, over and over till it feels "normal" again, if you feel SECURE with your self and know you can stop, or wont panic if it dont stop fast, try letting the idle carry you a few feet try to stop, etc etc, but make sure you but a like 4x4 hunk of wood like 10 feet infront of your tire incase you have NO BRAKES AT ALL, but only do it if you have pleanty of room and are SECURE with yourself

Did I mention my brake like goes on. ??!?!?!?!?
Re: still no pedal pressure// searched way too much
I would bleed them again, be sure your helper is keeping the pedal to the floor until you have closed the bleed valve. If that does not resolve the problem then you will have confidence to look for other issues.
On mine I can open the rear bleed valves break the seal on the fluid reservoir and gravity will flow the fluid out the bleed valve.

Does the car have read drums?
If so are they properly adjusted?
If not you will not have a pedal.
All pedal (master cylinder) volume is being used to push the shoes to the drum instead of against the drum

Re: still no pedal pressure// searched way too much
This is a long thread. lol I fixed my problem about 2-3 months ago. I have all rear disc brakes. What happened is the proportioning valve broke and that was my first problem. Then i did not know that the rears had no fluid ever because of the proportioning valve. Anyways i rebled them and figured out the issue.
