LS1 front brake question

I am in the middle of upgrading my front brakes to LS1 brakes and completed one side. Here's my question, are the bleeder screws supposed to be facing up or down on the LS1 calipers? The reason why I ask is because the bleeder screw on the driver side caliper is facing up and when I turned wheel all the way to the left the caliper banjo bolt is hitting the A-arm since the steering stop had to be cutoff. Did I do something wrong or is that something I have to live with? Thanks.

I guess it's normal for the banjo bolt to hit the a-arm then?

how is the bango hitting the a-arm? isnt the caliper mount up much higher than the a-arm? I have c5's and they never hit my stock a-arms

Oh wait a minute. Very good point. I was testing the full turn with the front wheels in the air which means when on the ground the bolt shouldn't touch the arm. I'll check it later and report back.

Re: LS1 front brake question

I'm looking at upgrading to a 4th gen brake system. I know the rearend bolts into place on my 91 Z28. Is there any modifications that need to be done for the front disc brakes. How easy of a conversion is it and what extra parts do i need to get that are not off a 4th gen or come with my 3rd gen.

Re: LS1 front brake question

Ed Miller makes bolt-up kits, though I'd guess that most require spindle modification. A larger rear system is possible without swapping rears. Ed's site follows:

Re: LS1 front brake question

that would be the spindles from the 3rd gen that need modifications or the ones of the 4th gen. I can pull everything off the 4th gen if needed.

Re: LS1 front brake question

what if i get spindles from the fourth gen. Would they swap in directly into my third gen. I've got access to 98 transam with all the front end brake system. that's why i'm asking.
----------
Ed Miller is my next option if I can't get this to work. But I can save so much more money if i can do a direct swap.

No. The front suspension is entirely different.
