Are 3rdGen & 4thGen master cylinder fittings the same, or different?
Well, I guess that the title to the thread pretty much says it all - I've got a chance to buy a line-lock for a decent price, but I'm told that it's designed for an LT1 car, so I need to know if it'll work with my '89 GTA or not before I send any money for it...
EDIT: And, since I'm on this board (rather than the LSx swap forum, where I normally am these days...), any tips or tricks for swapping spindles?? I decided that since I'm adding a good bit of power, it only made sense to upgrade the stopping power also...

Thanks guys.

Wow... I'm really surprised that no-one appears to have an answer regarding the fittings...

(Also, if anyone has any tips that would make swapping the spindles easier, I sure wouldn't mind hearing them...)Regardless, thank you for the info!

Not sure what you're asking - what sizes are what?
If it's the fittings that you're asking about, I don't have that info...

There is not really an easy way to swap out spindles. You can mod the spindles on the car so you don't have to take them off as long as you take your time. A big hammer and tie rod seperator are crucial if taking off the spindles. You can get away with leaving the struts attached to the car, make sure you leave a jack or stand under the a-arm to keep the spring in place. Air tools will be your friend if you have access to them.

You don't need a separator to pop the balljoint/tierod. An air hammer & pointed chisel on the bolt end works best, if you don't have that a chisel & a BFH, and if you don't want to do that a separator will get it done quick but you'll probably need a new seal afterwards.

Front (larger) hole: M12x1.0 bubble flare
Rear (smaller) hole: M11x1.5 bubble flare (90% sure on this one)

THANKS guys, your input is hugely appreciated!
I do indeed have air tools, which should make it at least a bit easier... And I've bought a new pair of ball joints so that I don't have to worry about messing up the old ones.
Funny note - These days I have to consciously remember that I have air tools. For the previous eight years or so, I didn't have 220 for my compressor (2 interstate moves, etc), so now that I do have 220, I'm always catching myself halfway through a project that I've been doing entirely with hand tools just out of habit...
