Difference Between Performance And Standard Rotors?
How do you tell if you have standard or performance factory rotors? My rotors are so warped you can just look at them and tell.

Re: Difference Between Performance And Standard Rotors?
The only "Performance" brake package is the 1LE, which is pretty distinctive with its 2 piston aluminum front calipers. Everything else uses the same rotors.
Re: Difference Between Performance And Standard Rotors?
Standard front rotors are 10.5 " in dia except the larger ILE performance rotors. Most parts stores ask this question and I don't know why?? When 98% plus 3rd gen cars have the standard front 10.5 rotors.

Re: Difference Between Performance And Standard Rotors?
When i went into get a bleeder screw for my front brakes(non-1LE) they had them for both the HD brakes, the regular ones, and the 1LE brakes. I thought it was odd since you could only get the crappy iron ones up front or 1LE's. Anyways turns out that the parts for the HD and the regular ones are the same. I had him run various part numbers and compared them. IDK why they think we have any sort of HD brakes or anything. Quite odd. As for why they might offer like performance rotors, those could be slotted/drilled ones also.

Re: Difference Between Performance And Standard Rotors?
Yes, but I've been asked if the car had a performance package. I've never gone through and compared the two.

Re: Difference Between Performance And Standard Rotors?
Thanks for the info guys. For some reason the place I buy parts from (rockauto.com) sells the ILE rotors for less than the standard ones.
Thanks again

I don't mean to hyjack this thread, but here is supporting details which i would like to know before i think about going ahead with this. They have standard rotors available, and napa has performance being slotted and drilled. But as far as pads and calipers, here are two options:
one piston for the front:

two piston for the front:

and as far as brake pads, i've found this which look like the dimensions of the two piston calipers:

is there a one piston and two piston assembly that is interchangable? or is this the 1le stuff?

Re: Difference Between Performance And Standard Rotors?
I understood the 1LE modifications, i just wanted to make sure that they were 1LE parts before considering them or LS1's up front. Where would one get 1LE rotors even?

Thank you James. I checked their website and they had it grayed out.

rockauto.com has them for $24. I think they have slotted and drilled stuff too.

Re: Difference Between Performance And Standard Rotors?
I have seen listings for 1LE rotors at napa, advance and autozone. Most of the time they come from a factory or warehouse on special order.
Its cheaper to get LS1 brakes up front. Finding 1LE stuff is usually expensive because its some pretty rare equipment when compared to the LS1 setup.
