Pulled E-Brake...got nothing.
I finished putting in a stock shifter and cable but put it in the wrong hole on the transmission shift lever(should it be the very top hole?) It must be because everything if off by one.
As I was backing out of the driveway, I head what sounded like a grinding sound from the right rear then it stopped. I got home and pulled the e-brake and it was noticeably easier to pull. Either something is broken or something got disconnected. Where is everything and what should I look for?

Either the cable broke, or it popped loose somewhere.
Easiest place to look is where the single cable splits to each side, under the car, then I would look under the console to see if the handle is still connected. Both of those points would affect both sides and it sounds like, from your description, that neither side is working.

I'll have to look at those, What are the chances of it breaking? DO you think it could have frozen while I had it applied and that is what that sound was?

I looked at the handle in the console, and the cable looks attached from what I could see, but when you move the handle, the cable doesn't move! I don't see how hat happens, but it does. It's really easy to pull the e-brake handle all the way up. When I first checked this morning, it was tough to pull like normal, but then it was easy again.

Re: Pulled E-Brake...got nothing.
Today I worked on the car to replace a few things, and I pulled the e-brake. It works now! How is that possible? I know it does because I would be able to rock the car a lot with it just in park, but when I pull the e-brake I couldn't rock the car.
Can somebody please try to give me a decent reason as to how this is possible?

Bump, even though it works now, I still would like to know what happened. I was told that it could have been frozen when it was easy to pull but that doesn't make sense.
