Need help, rear swap, brake hose issue
Swapped out my trashed 9 bolt (rear disc) to a 97 10 bolt from a formula. I’ve tried 3 different brake hoses (rear center) and none of them work. The problem is connecting the hose to the hard line that runs to the front, they are threaded different. The hose end is too big.
this is the hose I need. So far I’ve tried a 97 hose, an 88 hose, and another 88 hose of a different brand.

Re: Need help, rear swap, brake hose issue
All 3 of those hoses would have the same M12 x 1.0 female iso female bubble flare which is what should be on your car unless someone has changed the hard line. If it has been replaced it and M12 is too large it could be a M10 x 1.0 or even converted to SAE with a 3/8 -24 I.F. or 7/16-20 I.F. Do you know what diameter the steel pipe is? 3/16 would carry a 3/8 threaded adapter most likely and 1/4 diameter would carry a 7/16 threaded adapter.
82-82 cars had SAE lines and 84-92 had metric...you did not mention what year the car was but if the 9 bolt was original it would be a metric car.

Re: Need help, rear swap, brake hose issue
I have no idea if the rear is original but it’s an 88 sport coupe so it doesn’t seem like it would be.
FYI I was able to cap the long hard line at the back (axle side) with a pipe thread cap. I’m not too familiar with pipe thread but it came from a bin labeled as 1/8.
Ill take some pics this evening and update the thread because it appears someone has been here before because there are a few brass fittings that don’t look like they came from the factory.

Re: Need help, rear swap, brake hose issue
So I checked my parts car and it has a completely different hard line that runs from master cyl to rear end. This hard line works. I guess the 9 bolt cars used a different hard line from front to rear. Either way, problem resolved
