4th gen Booster and master cyl too high?

I finally put the 2000 Z28 brake booster and master cylinder into my 1990 the other day. They seem to sit WAY higher than the old 3rd gen parts do. My hood is currently off, but it looks like I'll have clearance issues, especially the screw on cap. Is this at all normal or expected?

The booster bolts are tight under the dash and it's sitting flush with the firewall (a small amount of... "correction" was required with a hammer right under where the booster mounts to the firewall, but really not much).

Should bolt right in. I've had two of them now in my car without any fitment issue.

i used the 93 booster, with a 98 master and while it does stick up higher the hood still closes fine
