Looking to buy soon 3-4 months
O-kay, this is just a feeler message. If things work out over the next few months in my new job, I will be looking to buy another 3rd gen Camaro. I miss my old one I had. So, if anyone is planning towards the end of summer to sell thier 3rd gen. I would be willing to listen to what may be offered. But this is what I looking for in my next 3rd gen:
1. T-Tops a must
2. 82-89 in years. (but really looking for 86-89, reason in next one)
3. 3rd brake light in spoiler. ( I know 90 was the last year for the brake light in spoiler, But with the switch from mech. to elec. speedo. 89 is the last year I want.)
That should cover it. It doesn't matter if it's a roller or working car. Would prefer 5 speed, but doesn't matter. Would prefer not to spend over 1k for a roller, or 2k for a working Camaro. With the project I have in mind. Engine swap, tranny swap, ect. It doesn't matter what condition the motor/tranny is in.
I should point out. I would like to have minimum body damage/rust. But then again...I may change my mind and go for a Camaro that is in almost top perfromance.
I know this is too early to post this. But I wanted to throw this out there to get in some poster's mind, that I will be out there (on here) looking. I trust the people on this board. Not the Ebay sellers.
Thank-you for your time.
Matthew
3/29/2009: I thought I would revise what I am meaing with my idea on a project car, and my meaning on top performance.
What I have in mind on my project is getting my LT1 engine stroked out to a 383 and a new beefed up tranny. Then sliding it into the 3rd gen. And what I ment on top performance, was not almost drag strip ready, I was meaning: Stock Camaro running near A-1.

Re: Looking to buy soon 3-4 months(Update!!!)
OK, Great news.....I finally got things in motion....after a long search....I finally got another job. So that means i'll be in the market very soon. And I have now changed what i'm looking for, or updated it really.
Still wanting one starting in 82....but now only going to 88...looking for pre-VATS now. It now does not need to be t-top...but wouldn't mind if it was.
An still...doesn't matter if it's running or not...or even a roller...but still would like to not have any "through" rust spots.
Hope this update widens the market for ones that my be selling.

Re: Looking to buy soon 3-4 months
i have an 87 IROC-Z/28 very nice condition. alot of motor work getting things to run. its in perfect running order, except that it will not pass CT emissions by less than 11 PPM on the HC. so its void on the CT emissions and would have to be brought to certified facility if registered in CT. other then that perfect running order.
