little bass output

Hey guys I'm trying to hook up these subs to this amp, and I can't seem to get much bass output, granted this is Jensen stuff but I should be getting way more out of them than I am. Any help with the best way to wire it up or any other solutions to my problem would be greatly appreciated. If you need more info on my subs and amp let me know. Oh keep in mind that I am kinda new to this stuff!
Thanks in advance...

just check all the basics: make sure positive wire from amp is hooked good, make sure it's grounded good, make sure positive goes to positive and negative goes to negative on speakers. also make sure the box is big enough (but not too big) for the speakers.

thanks for the response!

I have checked everything and right now I've bridged one sub to the amp. When I try to match the output of my head unit to the input of the amplifier I can't even tell that my sub is working, unless I turn on my Hi-Bass and crank the normal bass selection, and then go to the amp and turn the input level all the way up and turn the bass boost all the way up. Then I get some bass but it sounds pretty crappy.

Any suggestions?

well i'm stumped.
what kind of box do you have for the subs? check that and make sure there's no air leaks anywhere.
other than that, ummmmmmmm, i'm not sure.
did you buy it all new or is it used?

There aren't any air leaks anywhere, it just seems like they don't get enough power to pound at all...How would you personally wire these things up off the amp? Parallel? I have a 2ohm stable amp...

all this stuff is new also

Tell us more about the subs. Are they SVC or DVC. Also is there a crossover on your amp. Do you have it set up wrong? I accidently had my subs on high pass once and they didn't quite pound. I'm betting it's how they are wired or the amp crossover setup. Go to a site like rockfordfosgate.com. Go to rftech, woofer wiring wizard and go from there. It'll show you how to wire whatever type of sub you have SVC or DVC.

I'd pull the subs out of the box and make sure you have the correct wires going to the correct terminal. I.e. make sure that the positive wire is in fact going to the positive terminal. When I bought a box and subs a while back the moron had one of the terminals switched so when I hooked it up according to the color, it sounded like ****... it was simply because one sub was wired backwards and they were working out of phase of each other

????

Make sure your box is big enough airspace is crucial, if you go to fosgates website or mtx you can get diagrams for wiring to 1 ohm or 8 ohm depending on your speakers. Make sure you set up your crossovers. The deck can make a huge difference how many volts are the RCA ouputs, what deck is it?

Today I went outside with some buddies of mine and we messed with them for awhile, I think my boxes were a little to big so I filled them in some, also the subs were pointing up as opposed to pointing backwards toward the glass of the rear hatch...after we rearranged them in the car the thing hits really well, I guess I didn't know how much of a difference placement could make.

Thanks for all the help!

all right, now let's get down to business: my fee is $100 an hour, i put in about 5 man-hours on this situation, so that comes to $500 you owe me. i'll take cash or check.
ok, i'm an idiot. i just need the money....................

have fun with the system bro. word of advice: don't bump it too loud around your house, because the people around there will hear it and steal it. trust me, i found this out the hard way............twice.
