Man that has been a missouri law for quite a few years, ive been hassled by cops many times, but never ticketed. In my mustang I had a cop hear me loud and clear 3 blocks over!!! He followed the noise and was pissed but let me off with a warning. Bacon in KC likes their authority, but hate the paperwork
I beieve my exhaust is louder than my stereo, although cops would pull you over for the radio more than exhaust. Just as long as you don't drive like your racing and attact attention you should be fine.

Be glad you got a fine. Certain cities around here are allowed to yank your stereo if they catch you being too loud. I've never heard of it happening to anyone, and I hear it doesn't really apply if you have a factory stereo I guess, but if you've got a system, they're allowed to pull it.

50 ft, i have a kill switch, its called off but still cops can bust you like they did to me, i saw them and i turned it off then like 30 ft down the road i had their lights going and them pullin me over and saying it was for my stero being too loud...
I know that in Texas they have had a similiar law for about 10 years or so (way back when I was in high school). When the law first came out I had friends getting tickets for playing their music "too loud" and they only had a 30Wx4 head unit, no amps.
I guess I better be careful with my top down. Slow from 60-0 without adjusting the volume and I will get a ticket LOL
