Suggestions for my setup

I am planning to get a Pioneer DEH-P7400MP to replace my crapped out stock radio is this a good radio to get? I know it is expensive but I know someone that can give me a 40% discount. What speakers should I get? What size are the rear speakers and front? I want a nice loud system with some bass to it but don't want to go all out for weight reasons. Just looking to have some nice clear sound and a little thump to it.

4x6 in the dash, 6x9 in the rear. Add a small bass tube and your in business. Of couse a box with a 10" or 12" would be best, but you said you didnt want alot of weight.

Any brand speaker do you recommend? How many watts should they be? How do you feel of my choice of head unit?

There was recently a post on front speakers. Many recommended Infinity Kappas. The Pioneer decks seem to have a lost of features like a fancy screen, but I've never really been impressed with the specs. Its $330 at Crutchfield, and that seems like pretty much the cheapest decent MP3 player on the market today. Also look at the JVC digifine line. They have one for $330 as well. Do you plan on running an amp for the speakers, or just off the deck?

alpine and kenwood decks are very nice, infinity speakers are great, if you get a set of infinity components mounted in some kick panels from rezn8r, theres actually an astonishing amount of bass, and thats sans subwoofer.. something to think about..

I was planning on using the head units amp. A additional amp costs and weigh too much. So any product # you recommend with the infinity speakers?

The Infinity Kappa 4x6s up front are plates. The lastest model number is 462.5cfp. You can still find new Kappas on ebay that are the older models, which are usually cheaper.

Even with 6x9s, there is little bass. You can alway hook up a powered bass tube. They dont weigh that much.
