Which subs

Which do you all think I would be happier with. Two infinity kappa perfect 12"s (1000 rms) or 3 Jl audio 12w6's (900 continious)?

Most likely a kicker xs100. I listen to rap mostly, I want sq mostly I used to have 3 12w6's and it was more than loud enough, I just was wondering if anyone has heard either and which they preferred.

Just be sure no matter what speaker you go with,to get maximum power out of the Xs100, it'll need to be a 1 ohm load. max power should be or exceed 1200 watts. So be sure to get a woofer to handle the power.
The Perfects are great SQ woofer, but won't hold massive power. I would look at the Brahma or IDMax.

ditto to the brahma or max, better power handling and SQ imo.

There really isn't an answer to your question if you ask me. I would suggest you go and listen to some yourself and see what you think.

While others on here have given you their take on things in the end, unless they know you and know the tastes of your ears, you are the only one that will really know which subs will make you happy after you listen to them.

See if you can find a stereo shop that has some of the subs you speak of above in premade boxes. Talk them into letting you put them in your car and take a listen so you can 'try before you buy' sort of thing. Each speaker, and speaker placement for that matter, is going to sound a certain way in your car so this would give you a better idea than that of a showroom. Try to put the sub(s) in about the same location as you'll have it once you put it in your car.

Hope this helps!

Ted

Click the 'show all' or whatever it says.....maybe something messed up. Oh well....

Anyways, what i was wanting to know, is the new KX amps as underrated as the ZR amps were? (ie rate them @ 400 but they put out 725). Also, will you be attending the Heatwave? I plan on meeting up with Ed Martin (good friends with Biggs) and checking out Bigg's car.

Yea, I did that and nothing...hmmm...
But yes, the new KX amps are just as under rated as the ZR's. IE, the KX1200 is rated at 1200@1ohm, but will do closer to 1400 watts, maybe as high as 1500 watts.
Yea, I will be at Heatwave as well....taking off tomorrow to be with the family first, then we all leave thursday morning.
I'll see ya there!
