CD player not hungry
CD player not hungry
Can you fix a cd player once it decides that it won't accept CD's any more. It takes them in and then spitts them back out again. This is a JVC cd player that I got a couple of years ago. Is this something that I might be able to fix or is it DOA?
Thanks

Have you tried Reset
I am not sure that this will help, but have you tried to reset the inernal controler inside your CD player. There is usually a button behind the face plate that is used for reset purposes.
I hope that this helps.

he means its a little tiny button that usually is hidden on the faceplate somewhere. It small enought hat you have to use a pin or paperclip to push it. It resets the unit.
BUT, how long does it take to spit it out. Does it eject it right after you put a cd in, or does it take it in, spin for a second or two, then eject it?

DON’Y USE A CD CLEANING DISK! I see this all the time, the cleaning disks will actually knock the lens off the optical pickup. BillD91RS, your CD player most likely already has a bad optical pickup (The laser part that reads the disk). If you take it to an honest shop they should be able to fix it for like $150 or so, depending on what pickup is used in your player. JCV just used two for the most part, ones a little more expensive then the other.

I have the exact same problem as you and I also have a JVC cd player... Is this a common problem with JVC's or are other brands just as bad?? I know my friend has had a Pioneer for about 6 years without 1 problem....

This is a common problem with all CD players. But like every thing some are better them others. Pioneer is one of the most durable head unit out there, is just that simple. But even Pioneer pickups go bad and they break for other resins. 6 years is a long time for any pickup. An optical pickup will more or less “eat” itself over time.
