Stealth Sub Box For T-top Cars

Here are some pics of my custom box. It holds twin 10" Lightening Audio Strike Subs. Made out 3/4 inch MDF that has been glued and screwed. Is about 1 cubic foot of air. It only takes up about half the well so you can still get the the screws to get the spare tire out. Heres a link to some pics

I really like that style. It's clean and slightly hidden, and if you want to show them off you can. And being able to put the t-top cover over them is perfect for stealth. Nice job!

I'm not as fond of the boxes that go right to the top, almost at the glass. My plan (if I can ever get around to it) is to do basically the same thing except with fiberglass. And it's good to hear that you've still managed to squeeze in 1 cu' of airspace, 'cause that was my only major concern. That should enough for most sealed SQ enclosures.

So yeah, I think it looks sweet! How does it sound?

The box was like 1.2 when I was done so I added some wood inside to make 1.0 cubic foot because I needed .5 a sub. I would say that it hits pretty hard, more then loud enough for me.

Didn't even notice at first that you were from Vancouver. It's good to see that someone takes an interest in car audio around here. Few do that I know of, and those that do rarely complete the work themselves.

I like the fact that it's understated, matches the interior, and doesn't cause any inconveniences.

why did you waist that extra .2 cu ft? that .5 p/sub is a recommended MINUMUM. imo that doesnt seem to smart. if you like the way it is than thats all that really matters anyways.

If it hits hard enough for you thats great, good. Dosnt all of that stuff covering the subs block alot of bass?

Well when I close the the cover and put the t-tops over it is quieter, but that is too be expected. If I really want it loud I will run with the cover open. Surprisingly, even with the cover shut it doesn't rattle to much. The only reason I did it like this is so when I park the car people don't look in and see them.

nice job. i did the same thing with my single 12" box. only wanted to fill half of the well if possible. i've been looking forever for one of those locking covers, would make my entire system stealth. nice job
