Would really like red subs
My buddy has a 98 Z28 that is cayenne. He is wanting to get two 10's or 12's to mount on top of the gas tank(he has t-tops) He wants to get subs that will kind of match his color but still pound. The only ones that we have seen are volfenhags that I have heard good and bad things about and alumapro. Any one know what might be a good choice??

Here is a pic of his car....nice

No prob, I made the mistake of buyin them. Although the silver ones dont sound bad at all, I still wouldnt recommend them unless you are on a tight budget (like I was). Ask KJ Rocks (I think thats his name) about the Volfenhags, he has a pair.

Also you can try American Pro's........they light up red......ha.ha........don't know about the sound quality though......
Hey KJRocks...
How much do those Volfenhags cost??? Also, what kind of power can they handle, and do they have some kind of warranty on them?? I've heard bad things about them but they might be ok to start with.

I guess those don't work.
Go to the bottom of the page and do a search. You can also get them from www.Crutchfield.com albeit more money.

I hadda set of Volfenhags in my Ranger, pushed by a PPi A600 and a crossover. They do better than JL w3's and I had them in a ****ty box. I also noticed they are one of the only subs I have ever had that just got better as the box got bigger. Airspace on them didnt seem to be THAT big a factor with a sealed box.... still hit just as hard and deep. Then again, I never made a small box for them.

Well my buddy is deciding to get the volfenhags because KJ is so damn crazy about them. My other buddy has two type r 10s so we will see which put out more thump. I will let everyone know what it looks and sounds like when we finish the project in a couple of weeks.
Thanks for all the input

I agree KJ
When I got them, I was like *boner*
The magnets on them are just about as bad4ss as Orion Hcca's
25 lbs a sub...for 150 a pair....is a damn good deal in my book.
I ran a setup of my two 12's, a Volfenhag 1600w amp and a Pyle 40$ crossover (JC Whitney heh) and I hit up in the same decibel range with a CV Stroker 15"
To me.... thats hella good... and to think, I paid for my whole setup what he did for just his Sub with box.
Call me a Kmart shopper but nobody knew unless they were told.
On top of that, they look great too.

I have not personally experinced or have had an opportunity to listen to the " Germ's " as we call them here in Ok. Although, I did have a local Car Audio dealer tell me that they were s**t. He said he had the box matched perfectly with the Manufactures reccomendations, he hooked up a Legacy 800 Watt Amp 2-channel and blew the voice coil apart. As I said before, I have not personal experience, but I'll give it tok then that they look kewl.

before you guys start comparing your subs to your friends subs, you gotta make the playing field even. if they are different cars, the game is over before it starts. if its the same car then you need to have the same amp too. our cars have the ability to really pound when you face those subs toward the rear hatch glass. remember the above when comparing subs.
