Decent MP3 Deck
Decent MP3 Deck
Anybody have any recommendations or experience with an inexpensive but quality mp3 deck. If not, just a quality inexpensive deck. I want to try and keep it under $200, i'll go up to like $220 bucks but thats the max I want to spend. Thanks

Aiwa CDC-MP3 is what I have and it was $200 with shipping and install kit. It is pretty nice. Not the best out there but not the worst either.

if you wont go over 200 you're looking at something like a sony or a clarion.. maybe even a jensen if you're lucky
if you're willing to drop 3 bills you can pick up a nice alpine or kenwood--i'd recommend waiting til you can put up a little more cash before buying something of inferior quality.

So i don't really need an expensive deck.

if you never plan to upgrade your system, you'd probably be fine with just about any deck on the market. however, should you decide to add amps (and subs) later on down the line, you're going to benefit greatly from the higher preamp voltage, the cleaner sound and the adjustibility and tuning capabilities of an alpine, kenwood, etc. it's just easier to spend the extra $100 now and not have to worry about upgrading later (ie buying a brand new cd player for $300 anyway, after you already dropped 2 bills on this one)--but that all assumes you might want to upgrade at some later date.
Yea i didn't think about if I wanted to upgrade, which i do plan on doing, adding subs and better speakers and amps. Tell me what you guys think of this deck, it seems like its a really nice deck, and its not too expensive, around $330. Its the Alpine CDA-7894. Thanks

stay away from aiwa. their decks are pretty low quality and have heard many problems with them. look online for a deck, i highly recommend the jvc digifine series. sh707 can be found around that price. i'm still waiting to get enough money for the sh909. best deck, best specs, etc i've seen for around $300. and does mp3s
choosing an alpine deck is a great decision. unless you dont like the way it physically looks, i see absolutely no reason not to pick that up. it's a great deck, it'll deliver nice clean sound to your current setup, and even better sound once you add amps and such.
