is there any reason 4th gen radio wouldn't fit right in our cars?? they are 1.5 DIN, right?? and I just asked a 4th gen guy to measure, he said his is 5 1/4" deep. So would it work nice and flush??

 

I wouldnt see a reason why it wouldnt. Are you getting it for free or something? You will have to change the wiring harness and I dont know if they have a security feature or not. Is it stock, monsoon or bose?

The decks arn't too bad if you want to go for a Stock Type look....
Other than that, they dont have too many options....

 

it cant be any worse than our ten year old decks, can it?? i am not really worried about an upgrade, or options/features. my deck is bad, and yes, i love stock looking stuff. i dont really need or want a cd deck, because i have a changer. not free, but cheap. i just figured why not replace mine with a 2000 deck.

so is there really a good reason why i should not get one??

If it's the Bose system I think you'd have to get Bose speakers because they have an odd ohm rating. I think the monsoon deck should be fine though I'm sure I'm forgetting something obvious.

Well if it is locked, it wont work in your car.

no complaints about the monsoon?

and i was also thinking....would other gm cars have gotten the same decks???or are the ones from other cars any worse for any reason??

The fourth gen headunits are a lil bit bigger than ours and the wiring harness is the exact same thats y i love gm.

 

If you have a 89 or newer, the wiring harness is the same....

And it is slightly bigger, but it wil still fit
