Are there car stereos out there with RCA or phono inputs (auxillary inputs) BEHIND the stereo, not on the front? I want to hook up an external source to a reciever, but I don't want something plugging into the front of the reciever as I want a permanent, clean install.

 

most head units have an optional piece you can buy that converts the cd changer input (on the back of the receiver) into a pair of rcas for an aux input

 

Yeah I was just thinking about that.

I'd rather not do an FM modulator. Sounds like the RCA/Changer thing would be a good way to go

 

Any AI-NET alpines (Not sure about the non-AI net models) can use the cd changer input like mud mentioned. Most of the Kenwoods can too. I believe the JVC Digifines have an aux input on the back.

 

Some of the clarions have aux inputs. Atleast on last years models. Not sure on this years though.

 

Yup, the AI Net Alpines can do it. I am using it to run my iPod, works great, and much easier to use than an MP3 CD changer.

anybody that sells Alpine will have it. It's about $20 or $30.

 

if yer using alpine the adapter is a kca-121b (it converts ai-net to rca input) you can get it for anywhere from 15 to 25 depending on the shop. youll have to go to a local circutsh*ty, hifi, nor magnolia will carry it... most clarions above 250 now already have em on the back...

I think the KD-LX 300 has it too!!!!

 

my Jensen has them. pretty slick you just press a button to go to AUX. I think the model number is like IC8010 or similar. I got it from crutchfield.
