sub w/ Profie amp
I want to get a 10" or 12" dual voice coil. For the time being I want to run it off my Profile Clarus 600 Cl which gives out 150x2 RMS. any ideas of what sub i should get for around $120? I was looking at Rockford, Alpine and Kicker but cant really decide.

What do you want out of your subs, SPL, sound quality, or a mixture of both? How much room do you have to play with? This sort of stuff matters.
I'd look into Elemental Designs or Adire as well as the other brands you mentioned. Unfortunately, these brands are more or less purchased directly, so you won't have a chance to audition them.

Then I'd look into Adire, Resonant Engineering, Audiomobile, Elemental Designs, etc. All of them offer affordable drivers that should work very well. You can get 12" Shivas for $125 shipped, which might be one of the best deals in car audio.
First - running the right channel to one VC and left to the other is discouraged, i heard this could cause damage.
second - you might also want to look out, Running 1 sub, i take it you're going to bridge the amp. most amps won't run, and i know for a fact, the Profile won't run Bridged at less than 4 ohms, so....DVC might be tough. a SVC 4ohm would be your best bet. I'm not sure what the Shiva's are that were mentioned, but keep that in mind.

A lot of DVC subs have dual 2-ohm coils, so you can just series-wire them and get a safe impedance.
