Kappa's in the dash

Will Infinity Kappa 4 x 6 plate speakers fit in the front of my 89 Iroc or are they too deep?

Also, can anybody tell me for sure what size speakers are in the back side panels of my 89 convertible? I did a search on this topic and haven't got a straight answer yet. I want to buy the speakers before I take everything apart.

my pass side fit fine but the drivers side needed about an 1/8" of something under it......so i cut out a piece of wood the same shape as the plate and used that......worked fine

Don't know the measurements of the stock 'vert rear speakers but I replaced mine with Phoenix Gold Saphire Series Components (seperate tweeters), they just, just fit.
BTW, you will always have crappy sound in a 'vert.
I am running Pioneer front plates, the Phoenix rears, and two eight inch subs driven by about 600 watts...still sounds lousy.
Just drop the top and enjoy the soothing sounds of the "OOHS and AHHS" as you drive by those lesser mortals in their steel roofed boxes.

It seems to me that if you have the plastic speaker mounting plates under your dash they fit with no modification (like in my 1992 RS)...but if you have the metal ones, you need to play around with them to get them to fit under there

I was able to get my 4" x 6" Kappa plates in fine. The driver side did take a little more effort to get in place though.
