there's nothing wrong with old school companies. what is wrong is when a company just uses their name and old school credability to push their equipment. a brand that was good back in the day isnt necessarily a brand thats good now. jensen is low end stuff. much better stuff out there. another brand that comes to mind (number 1 in this category) is sony. their old car stuff was good/great. now it sucks

my experience with jensen is that of a good one, i have not had any problems with it. I have heard subs that are supposed to be better than jensens that sounded like crap. I guess it depends on the amp you run as well. I need porof i guesss to lay my faith in jensen to rest lol

Pyramid has been around for a long time too.

Most of the Jensen stuff is ok. It's not the cheapest crap on the market, but it's sure not what I'd consider quality either. I don't feel that your money is best spent on most of their stuff.

as usual, it depends on who you ask. They are decent for the money, but certainly don't compare to better brands.

I scored a jensen amp at a garage sale for cheap, and never had any problems at all with it.

JENSEN IS NOT BAD STUFF!!!!!!

It's good enough for my wife's '93 Mazda MX-6!!! :sillylol:

Seriously, it's not great at all. We bought a CD/MP3 player for $135. How good can it be at that price?

Surprisingly the SQ is descent. Later on we may put something better in it, but I'll wait for the Jensen to F*** up first.

I rocked a Jensen 12' sub from Wal-Mart (powered by a 300W Jensen amp ) for quite some time. It certainly wouldn't win any competitions, but it sounded decent, and knocked out of control, considering it cost 39.95 brand-new.

For real. jensen's a good deal.. i've got 2 jensen 12 inch high excursion woofers.. paid 42 w/tax at the wallymart.. got the customer fit box for the back of the camaro.. got 2 jensen amps.. 300 watt 2 chan and and 400 watt 4 chan and it does the job.. people hear me coming down the road.. i've also gotta plye passive eq and a jvc deck.. i had a 10 inch jensen in a bandpass box.. was 80bucks.. took out the rear passenger molding going in the trunk.. flipped it up side down so the ports fired down.. and slammed the lid closed.. nobody could steal that stuff unless they could get the hatch open.. knocked like a motha

Jensen isn't the best, but it's certainly not the worst. In the 2 years that I've had it now, I've only managed to make it skip 2 or 3 times and I think it sounds pretty darn good for what I paid for it. However, when I finally get around to my interior work the Jensen will come out in favor of something a little better.

IMHO jensen is best price vs preformance on the market. You get what you pay for in car audio but I feel that with jensen you get a little more. You are still paying $75 - $100 for a 300w amp but jensen will blow anything else in that price range outta the water. BTW I was really impressed by the sound of their hi excursion woofers. Absolutly amazing for a $50 sub.

i agree, i see nothing wrong with Jensen. Its just that us Jensen guys/gals get laughed at but i had a better system with Jensen than some dudes with better stuff. I guess its the "uncool" thing to have Jensen...but i laugh when i play my system next to a buddys and mine sounds better.

exactly. jensen can't compete with high end stuff but anything remotely close to it in price can't compete.

btw the bext 6x9 i have ever had vere jensens, that means i liked them better than my bostons and Boss.

roflmao.for some reason sound advice thought it would be good to sell jensen(i think it was to get the poor people in the store and rob them blind)but when the first one hit my repair bench, i think i laughed the whole day.those radios are the biggest pieces of crap i have ever seen in my life.they use the cheapest parts they could find along with the cheapest components.do yourself a favor , save up some money and buy a better stereo, and as far as price wise, cmon guys a stereo should cost more than 20$.you can get an alpine for cheap these days,or a sony,or a kenwood, you just have to look around, but look away from the jensen.PUT THE JENSEN DOWN AND BACK AWAY!!

I've never been cheap enough to get a jensen h/u. I have only had their amps and speakers both of which i was satisfied with. I know jensen is a bargan brand but isn't it better than pyramid and lanzar?

i think that the jensen subs were pretty good. Its just the name that makes it uncool. So what if there are better more expensive brands out there. When money is an issue id buy jensen before pyramid or any other ****** subs. My dual 10's rocked and i dont think anyone bad mouthed it coz it was a jensen. Ive never used jensen amps but i like there subs.
