How many 12's can you stick in the hatch?

I want to try and build something to house 6 12's in my car. Any suggestions?

I had 2 12's and 3 10's in the trunk simultaneously, in ported enclosures. Im sure if you played wiith the spacing of the amps (used where i had the 2250SX for more cu. ft.) you could get 5 or six 12's....

i've got an idea of how to get maybe 5 or 6 but you'd have to build a podium for your amps if you want them in the back or mount them in the back seat i did that with an 84 of one of my friends with 6 computer fans under plexiglass to keep them cool when the seat was up. you could also build one like this for three more 12's

I got 4 kicker solo barics in the hatch.....im sure i could have fit 2 more easy, but i didnt have enough money to buy 6......hopefully in the future i will be adding 2 more.....i put my amps in the glove box in the hatch....and i took out the spare tire and i have 3 amps in there....im sure if u play with it u could fit tons of 12's back there!

If you have tons of extra money, you can always do an isoberik configuration with woofers. That way they require 1/2 of the box space.

Downside is that you have more woofers to run power too, and don't get the 3DB gain from having an extra woofer running. Good side of things is it cleans up the bass more, and makes it more accurate.

I am not familiar with setting up an Isoberik configuration where the box is ported to a specific freq. though. I am not sure how well it would work, but winISD shows a serious DB gain when running isoberik with a tuned port.

Heard from one guy who had 8 8"s setup in his rear hatch well, and hit over 145 DB too, (normal configuration) so I guess it depends on what you want to do.

You could fit 8 to 10 of the 12" subs in a custom box in the rear. If you use something like the Alpine Type R subs which only require .75 cubic feet of space it is not difficult to do. I had 4 in my hatch and could have easily fit 4 more. 3 or 4 will fit in the rear well if you build the box correctly, than 4 to 6 will fit on top of the hump. Maybe more.
