I have mine moutnted vertically under my sub box. I screwed it right into the floor since it'll go right through and not hit anything.

I favour having it locked in the rear drivers side compartment myself. There's more than enough room, whereas in the compartment the spare lives in theres an excess of room (which is best kept free for a nitrous tank of a trunk mounted battery ).

I just put mine in the rear locking glovebox. There's still room for other stuff in there.

In my (late) 89 IROC, I installed an Alpine 12-disk under the dash pad to the right of the vents. That way my ex-wife could change out the disks while on a road-trip. (a few standard Alpine screws held it in tight). It had been thru 2 attempts to steal it. The only way I got rid of it was to sell the car with it still installed.

Again I know were you guys mount them!! But what I want to know is HOW! I want to put it in the spare tire comartment or in the drivers side locking glove box but no one is saying HOW they mounted them in there. Like did they make a platform to mount it to or what?? I really need some ideas.

Plywood, MDF, Plexiglass, Fiberglass..it all depends on your budget and how you want it to look.
