I was robbed AGAIN!!!!

It happened again! Two months ago, some SCUMBAGS broke into my wife's Caddy, stole her CD player, took a knife to the dash, and stole a bunch of other little things out of her car. They hit her car and 21, yes 21 other cars in our apartment complex that night and never got caught. We supposedly have a security guard. I've been here for two years and never seen one. So anyways, just as my alarm was going off at 5am this morning, my doorbell was ringing. I had a feeling I knew what was going on so I grabbed my 12 guage that I'd been keeping loaded for such an occasion. Sure enough, the neighbor at the door said somebody was in my GTA right then tearing it up and stealing stuff! I ran out there but by the time I got there, they were jumping in their car and leaving. I pointed my shotgun and was squeezing the trigger, but I didn't want to hurt some innocent bystander. Just as they peeled out of the parking lot, a cop drove by and turned on his lights and siren. I didn't see the rest, but there was a high speed chase for a fw miles and the punks finally wrecked their car which was also stolen by the way. They were trying to fight the cops and the cops really kicked their *ss! They tore up my GTA pretty bad. I had the wires to my subwoofer ran underneath the carpet and the center console. They ripped up the new console that I just installed on Saturday, and cut the carpet. They ripped my radio out and tore up the radio pod. They popped my hood and ripped out the subwoofer power cable. They also stole my Kenwood satellite reciever, and cut the wires to the satellite antenna. When you cut the wires on the antennas, they are ruined. It's $50. They also took a 140 piece Craftsman tool set and some CD's. They were able to get into the car without breaking any windows. All together, they stole well over $1,000 in stuff, and did a lot of damage. So, I need to know the most expensive places to buy a center console, new carpet, and a radio pod. I'm going to sue these lowlifes for all that I can. Not that I'll get anything out of it, but I just want to make their lives a really big headache. They hit my car and about 12 others in the area this morning. I'm going to try and get my neighbors to sue them for as much as possible too. What can I do to keep this from happening again? A car alarm isn't really practical unless it will drive spikes into their eyeballs. I wish they had "Beat up an inmate" day down at the jail. I'd go down and kick the crap out of them. When I saw them this morning, they looked pretty rough. I told them that I was going to testify against them and ask the DA to give them the max punishment. I also told them that when they do get out of jail, I'd be on them like white on **** and that I was going to get everybody together to sue them for so much money, it would take 10 years to pay off the debt. I really wanted to just drag them out of that squad car and stomp a mud hole in their face. Anyways, what can I do to keep this nonsense from happening again? Thanks! Matt

Hey, i like this beat up an inmate day. Imagine how long the line would be? and the money they could make, I'd pay $50 to beat the **** outta the guy that tried to steal my Katana last year.

Sorry to hear about your car but glad to hear that they are caught.

Keep your car locked up in a garage.
Truthfully there is no way around it. If they really want to get into your car they will. I can think of many ways to secure the car (non-lethal but a good immobilizer) when they are in it, but with today’s laws they will just turn around and sue you for endangerment.

It's not a T-top, but I'm guessing they just pulled the window out. The radio I had did have a removeable face plate, and in the two months I've had it, last night was only the second time I'd forgotten to remove it. My wife lectures me when I forget to remove it. However, when they stole her radio, her face plate was locked in the glovebox. They ripped the radio out, then pried the glovebox open to steal the radio. Matt

they should make an alarm that sends 12000 volts of electricity throughout the car when a trigger is tripped, have the carframe hooked up and have the dash and steering wheel and seats set with the 12000 volts, have it running through a couple of "trick" cables throughout the car, so the theves think they can steal your amp, the rip off the power cord, (which is overlapped withd this 12000 volt conducing wire) and they get shocked to bloodly hell, they try to rip the cords out of your reciver, once again zAP, they pop your hood, have a field of electricity overtop of your engine, if they trip the overlapping field of electricity, ZAP!

I feel your pain, I feel your pain

Just be glad that you caught the bastards.....

You should consider talking to the complex to get some damn security, that's ridiculous, it's practically like a thief shopping mall, with all the time they had to rip stuff out.....

Revenge is sweet, get their damn names, and make sure to give them a visit about 6 months to 1 year after they get out...........I lost all trust in the Justice systems YEARS ago.....

couldn't you also sue the complex for false advertising? They say that they have a security guard watching over the lot when you are shopping around for an apartment. Once you move in you realize there is none, sounds like a little bit of lying to me. I'd look into that as well. Also motion for security cameras or something of the like to be put in.

I had my camaro parked at my schools tech center for my class, and I usually park waaay far from the building, but i got a spot RIGHT by the door, and same kinda thing, the day i forgot to take the faceplate off... The people we are DAMN sure did it left when I normally did, but i stayed an extra 15 minutes, and my stereo got stolen. If I would have caught them, i woulda pulled out my crowbar that was between the drivers seat and the door (not roadrage, my alternator bolt kept slippin, i had it to tension it, lol) and beat em down with it, i was pissed...

Is there a good way to make sure that its much harder to take the stereo out of a camaro? It probally took em just as long to open the door as it did to steal it... The only thing that was good about it was they slim jimmed it, and nothing was broken...

I feel the pain

I had my stereo stolen in March, the idiots only took the CD player, which was my new Pioneer, not my CD's, not my oil and filter, not all my books, not even the two amps or subs in the back. TO MAKE IT WORSE, the car was in my driveway. The cops were useless. There were visible fingerprints," umm I don't see um george." Even my alarm didn't go off and they broke out my window. Which I would like to inform everybody that if they do have a Bulldog Alarm, to get rid of it. Mine was set to the maximum sensitivity and didn't even chirp when they broke out the window. Very aggravating times. Remember, 12guage by the bedroom door, and don't hesitate to cause action.

i went through the same thing a few years ago. i've also learned the hard way. here is what i follow now:

1. do not play your system loud while you are about to park. someone could be waiting for someone like you.

2. dont keep stuff in your car that would give away you have a system. if there's a bass cd or test cd lying on the seat, good chance that there's something good in the car.

3. dont brag in public or to people you dont know about what you've got. if someone is listening, they'll go lookin and they'll go nabbing.

4. dont have anything showing if it doesnt have to be. i'm someone all about the stealth setups these days. get the flush mount kit for our cars (camaros in particular work the best) and make a dummy face out of an old delco radio. remove your good face, hide it, and put the dummy face over the flush mounted radio. someone doing a quick peek wont know the difference. hide your amps under seats, in seats, under panels, etc. get a stealth box or one of the locking hatch covers. in the very least, if you've got t-top bags, use it to cover everything in the trunk.

give a peek at my site. i dont know if everything is up to date picture-wise, but it should give you an idea of a couple of the steps i've taken so far.

How can I make the dummy face? I have a POS stereo in it now i can cut up... do you just basically take the bezel off? Dont you also have to mount the stereo in a tiny bit so that it looks flush when you put the crappy bezel on? When I put my stereo in my other camaro, it was a semi tight squeeze, i dont see how to put it in any farther...

There is actually a system that electrifies the door handles to 'taze" intruders. Sounds like a good idea. But I would want to make sure it knocks them out, and not just a little jolt to **** them off even more. I will have to look for that. Just goes to show you nothings safe anymore as long as jealous mother fckers who wish they had something like that, exist. My friend caught some punk doing that to his car in broad daylight,so he got his pops and they beat him down........ Best of luck on rebuilding man

did you have to install the Deck in a little bit so that the fake face looks flush? If so, how did you do it? anything special?

Theft deterrent 1: remotely electrify the body panels.

Theft deterrent 2: get solenoids for your doors, but leave the handles on, and put razor blades all underneath them.

Theft deterrent 3: This is a bit extreme, and is not recommended for any but the most serious audio enthusiast. Put tampons all over the interior of your car. See if anyone goes near it.

scoche makes a kit for 3rd & 4th gen camaros and firebirds. it allows you to flush mount the deck. you will have to remove the metal bar in the back of camaros and may have to shave a bit of the vents off too that are back there. jim's done it too. its not too difficult, just a little more work than just a normal install

This issuse was exactly why I hauled my butt down to check out all of the options for car audio before I purchased my new radio. The radio I got is actually pretty damn cool, you see it flips around when the car is off, so it LOOKS like you don't HAVE a radio, all you see is an empty space as if you don't have one, and when the car is on it flips around again. Seems to work consideirng I live in one of the worst neighborhoods in jersey and my car hasn't been touched. Though they did bust into my grandma's and so forth, which is parked beside mine.

Since that incident I have added a few secuirty touchs, of course I have a parking garage, it used to be an enclosed garagae several decades ago, now its just a concret floor and 3 walls. But anyway, firstly I can see the car from my bedroom window, but since I am only there at night I bought a 200 dollar security camara system, I have 2 camara's trained directly on the car, one from the side, and one from the back. There is another that angles before the car, at the front of the garage, and another on the back of my house giving a look at all angles one could approach my car in, and this is hooked into a small tv that sits on my coffee table so when I am here I can keep an eye on it. They are also recorded of course.

Anyway, there is also a fifth camera that is not actually hooked up to be viewed, this one is motion sensing and pages my pager when motion is sensed. This all was only around 215 dollars. I got it on eBay.

There is a sign that notes the fact it is monitered, and there is also 3 other signs; "Dogs will Bite" "Trespassors will be shot, survivors will be shot again" "Anything but a Camaro parked here will be donated to charity".

I haven't had a problem yet, and my car has a LCD top mounted system and so forth, so its obviously working. In an apartment complex though its hard, they are just one parking lot really. If you live in one where you can see the car from a window in the house, or something like that, mount a video camera and get a magentic sign and put it on the car warning that the car is under survellence?

I was going to do that for my car (only a less nice saying), but then the accident happened and she hasn't been back since then, stupid slow body shops.

Unfortantly any alarm/deterent that can cause bodly harm to an inturder the inturder can sue you for it. Check for specifics if you want and I know you will find one in your state. I had a Fake delco face over my old radio, when it was stolen, but then again they were not really interested in my radio, they were trying to get my car, good thing for me they didn't figure out why it would not start. I had a few parts off the car. They stole several cars off the campus that weekend, mostly high dolar ones, I have no Idea why they went after mine. Most others that were stolen were 60k+ cars. A good pager style alarm, that tells you if it was a bump or and open door etc is the best way to catch them. The removeable face works if you remove it.

Yeah, gotta love rent-a-pigs, he was proabably just out to get a donut or something. Here's the master plan, so you can get rich off your misfortune.

1. Sue the dumbasses who broke into your car.
2. Sue the apartment complex for not having a security guard
on the premises at all times.
3. Sue the security company for negligence because their so
called "officer" was on the crapper while your car was being
raided.

That's what I'd do, just get good lawyer (I hear Johnny Cochran's free these days.)

Seriously though man, I hate to hear about that kind of crap happening. Anyhow, good luck, I hope you nail the guys that did it.

Damn that's terrible man. Youve should have dropped the punks with a nice winchester round to the spine. Or buy a .45, less chance of hurting innocents.

Yeah, I would definately get a lawyer, and round up as many people as you can in your complex. Sue them to hell and back.

Or pay some guy named "Tiny" in their cell block to give them a human booster-shot.

One system that I have found is great for my car (and I believe was mentioned breifly in this thread) is a pager system. My camaro is equiped with what is called "AutoPage." I think Apline makes it, I'm not sure. I know where I work (Ultimate Electronics) we have a pager system there also. It's by Python, runs $499. I have had to use mine. I could have made a movie out of what happened. I was at the mall with a couple of my buddies, and my pager started going nuts. Luckily, I was almost out the door anyways, and started powerwalking so as not to scare away the unsuspecting victim. Got up to the car and lo-and-behold there he was with a jimmy in my door. Little dude, didn't look a day older than 16. I very POLITLEY asked him, "Lock your keys in your car?" He looked up VERY shocked, and replied very frightened, "Uhh....yeah...I hope so...I couldn't find them...." I reached my hand in my pocket, pulled out my keys, and said, "I think I found them....wait....THESE ARE MINE!!!!" He about faced, left his jimmy in my car, and tried to run away. Unfortunatly for him one of my friends plays baseball and I'm tall and fast and he didn't get far. Not wanting to press charges and go through all that nonsense, I decided to be my own judge/jury and he quickly recieved his sentencing. So if you live in the valley in Arizona, drive a gun-metal-grey camaro, and shop at the Chandler Fashion Center, don't worry about getting broke into, I don't think he'll be back.....

If not, get the pager system, works great!

how not to let this happen

fire next time
hire a personal rent a cop for the car
store the car in a trailer surrounded by armed gards
move to the bat cave
sell the car and buy a pinto

I like Dustin Imports' idea
"jb weld and big *** fish hooks, bolt the amp, sub box down and real sturdy, but enough that they think they can get behind and just pull it out... next thing ya know... they have 2 choices, leave w/o their hands or, wait fer the cops."
do you have any pics of that installation?

They got into my IROC last week. Took the face for the HU and my digital camera. Needless to say I had a better alarm installed than the elcheepo crap that was in the car when I got it. It could have been much worse. I believe my neighbor heard something and flipped on her porch light, at which time they fled. If it had not have been for her, I might be walking to work........ oh the things that I would have done to those motherfckers
