Put an end to thieves....
this is what you do. get a big huge stuffed animal bear or pikachu or something. Put that in your passenger seat. Then print out a picture off the internet of some really buff guy on glossy paper. Tape that to your dash, and take a sharpie and write BOYFRIEND on it.

heh, we just went thru this in a thread on a nother forum.. some quotes:
and about hooking a coil up to shock people:
in anycase, i made a simple soultion.
i took a regular old car siren.. the kind that you just hook up power and it goes, and mounted it under the dash of my 91.
90+ camaros have a "upper" lower dash pad cover and a low cover... i mounted it just under the high cover so that its just below the gauges.
when its on, its very uncomfortable to be in the car. even on the pass side with the top down in the vert.
remember, these are the same sirens that people use under the hood and you can hear them form blocks away...
now even if i dont hear the siren, and i probly will, they will still flee ASAP. they arnt going to stay in there long to jack anything. esp since they cant just pop the hood to get to the siren.
im not going to say exactly how i did it, but yes, it will keep going if you pull the power cables off. once on, theres only one way to dis arm it short of pulling apart the dash to get to the wires...
and that lower dash panel is thick gauge metal with a few big bolts holding it... unless they brought somthing bigger then a screwdriver and can take the sound, they arnt getting the panel off.
it isnt fool proof, but better then nothing.
another idea is to take a ground strap and bolt it to the radio... bolt the other end to somthing solid.. (not the console, thats plastic)
and i like the razor blade idea. nice thing is, if you ever get in trouble for it, you can say they were there to help shim and hold the radio in place..
but if a cop just sees the blood from the guy, the cop doesnt need to know the blades were there.... just know that the theif cut himself somehow "probly on the broken glass officer"
the strap and razor thing could go together too...
anyhoo, pics of my car trying to get stolen... they would have gotten it too... but VATS didnt let them start it.
all they did was break my column and steal the cheapie head unit... btw its pointless to get a tape deck and expect them not to steal it.. ive seen them steal stock GM 3rdgen headunits..

you can see they just used a screwdriver on the pass side to pry it out:

this is my steering column:

the flat rod sticking out turns with the lock cyl on the other side.
the bar at the bottom with the teeth moves when the gear (not shown) is turned by the lock cyl bar.. thats what turns on your ignition..
that spring is for the lil rod that "locks" your wheel in place when you have the key off... the rod is out and on the floor with the gear.
in anycase, its been fixed for awhile now.
In TX it is against the law to use a device (ie. booby trap of some kind) to protect property. Under section 9.44 of the 2003 Texas Penal Code:
"Sect. 9.44. Use of device to protect property.
The justification afforded be Sections 9.41 and 9.43 applies to the use of a device to protect land or tangible, movible property if:
(1) the device is not designed to cause, or known by the actor to create a substaintial risk of causing, death or serious bodily injury; and
(2) use of the device is reasonable under all the circumstances as the actor reasonably believe when he installs the device."
And in TX you can NOT just shoot someone for breaking into your car. You are only authorized to use an amount of force required to neutralize the threat. While fear is a justification when someone enters your home, it is NOT valid for you car or just property in general. You can beat the hell out of them, but shooting them is STILL not justified. (Sect. 9.41-9.43).
Not to mention, even if you ARE justified legally, you can still be held liable for the act civilly and be sued by the dirt bag for injuring him, or by his surviviors....

....but i think we're forgetting about somthing..... what would a coil spark do to our stereo systems? i mean, most of the cases are grounded anyhoo.. and even if we did make the case not grounded, whats to stop the spark from jumping to a ground in the head unit thereby breaking it?
