Location for Amplifier Groud Wire
Hello everyone. This is my first post to this message group and yes I did do a search first. Anyway here is my question. I am looking for a good place to connect the ground wire of my amp to the car. Anyone know of any good locations. Please be specific. I would like to be able to connect it without having to drill a hole because I am trying to keep my car stock. Is there a bolt anywhere back there that can be loosened and hook the wire to it. Anyway my amp is located in the back right side of the car next to the spare tire compartment. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

remove your rear plastic (on the pass side) where the spare is and youll find some bolts and nuts you can run them off of...but big deal if you got a drill a hole and insert a bolt and nut...your covering it up with the stock plastic whos ganna ever know??

No drilling needed.
Use the back seat belt bracket where its bolted to the rear tire well. Just make sure you tighten it back up real good.

Well my car is an 87 so I don't have the rear sholder belts.
I think the rear lap belt would be too far away.
Anyone have any other recomendations.
Thanks for the sudjestions though.

Grounds
I used one of the jack/spare wingnut mounts for my ground and it works great. All you have to remember to do is hook it back up if you ever have to take it loose to get the spare/jack out.....

My ground isnt all that dependable but mines just screwed down to one of the screws on the flat part of the rug inside the hatch. Im too lazy to look for a new spot or to run more wire.

I found a spot. I took the back piece of plastic off. The one that hides the automatic trunk closer. Where the trunk latch is bolted to the car there is a huge washer so I just hooked up the ground using that. I havn't tried it yet but it should work.

I found a pre-existing hole in a piece of metal under the right side hatch plastic just behind the backseat. A screw fit through it and I ran the wire to it with a washer and nut. There's a hole in the plastic that covers the spare and the wire went through that to the amp.

My amp is inside my seat, and I used a metal toothbrush lookin thingy just a wire brush, and Ground the paint off the part that the back of the seat bolts to the car with, and I put the wire in there and bolted the seat on... Perfect ground lol. Then my other small amp for the 6x9s the wire is in the bolt that holds the drivers seat to the car. My amp used to be in the back, and it was just grounded where they said behind the panel by the spare tire...

just take off the rear plastic (middlepiece) their is enough flat metal their to just drill a hole get a bolt and nut. Crimp a end terminal on a peice of 4 gauge or less wire and add some contact goo soo it dont corrode and bolt down. and you can hide the wire under carpet to put amp(s) anywere.
Dont just put it on screw or wingnut.
You Might mess your amp up if it dont get a good ground all the time.

Just remember the best ground is as short as possible and is just as big as the positive wire/wires.
6+ wires in, 6- wires out.
