Install
Well...
I contacted a local company and they are doing my car stereo install. They are custom building the enclosure, doing all the installation, and making it look clean. They have had the car for about a week now and well..I can't wait to get it back. They at first wanted to do an Infinite Baffle installation but I told them that this will not do as my subs are not free-air subs. So they decided on doing this...
Building a box that sits even with the top most part of the back of the car. Then they are putting a baffleboard ontop of the box that will host my amps and caps. This baffleboard will fit the entire back of the trunk area. They said that they are cutting the sub spaces 12" so that my grilles will just show through the top baffle board.
I get the car back tomorrow or wednesday...once I get it you can believe that pics will be posted.

Well I dropped if off last tuesday. Being easter weekend I didn't expect them to get it done until this week.
Also they ordered the wrong colour carpeting. That and they are trying to do the best possible install with minimal wires showing.
I am not too worried. I have my Tempo as my daily driver while the T/A gets an Audio Face lift.

Thats just uncalled for, Over two days is too long. Any good shop should have the tools, material and man power to complete such a simple job in a reasonable amount of time. I could see if someone was getting a huge spl mega watt system installed with cement bracing etc. But a simple fiberglass box? Hell no! It took me about four hours to make my fiberglass box for my car. Thats start to finish.,Of course i didnt sand the box much, instead it has material over it, i wasnt looking for the smooth look. But damn i even flush mounted my amps in that amount of time!

Uh...I am not getting a fiberglass box. Its all made of that MDF stuff. Basically they just started doing Stereo installs. I checked the car and it pretty much hasn't moved an inch for the whole time it was there.
I went and checked it out yesterday and it is looking real good. Everything was wired up yesterday when I left. All they have to do now is put the carpet on the top coverboard and vacume out the car and we are good to go. I should have it back tomorrow or friday.
Can't wait to hear those 10's pound.

If it is a small shop, I can see how a week may be needed. If you only have 2 or 3 people there, not everyone works on the car usually. Only one and maybe 2 people work on the car. 3 is to many. and if they are busy since they are new, they might have to go up front and help out. And they probably do little installs around your install so they dont loose some business. So I can see a week since they are new...all I can say is that is better be PERFECT when you get it back.

They aren't doing anything wrong. I told them to take their time. I am in no hurry and I don't want a mickey mouse job done on my car. They have the box constructed however they screwed up on the carpet. They got the proper carpet last night and should be installing it today. They are charging me $225 for all the work they did and all the material they used so I can't complain. I got to see the final uncarpeted product yesterday and well its awesome.

Well...got my car back. Sounds awesome, looks awesome "in my own opinion". Here is a pic to see for yourself. Tell me what you think.
Oh and that empty place between the subs will be the home of a kenwood 600watt 4 channel amp to power all my speakers. Should solve my current issue of all low no high.
